** We have had more than enough offers, but we have given a home to two half-brothers and soon to be one blind senior pony. **

We have 200 acres here in Georgia. It's really nothing fancy. We have one horse now (lonely gelding). We are looking to adopt 1-2 horses. Any age. Prefer that they be riding sound (if only plodding around the trails). We are NOT looking for show horses, show quality horses, or anything of the sort. The only thing we ask is NO STALLIONS. Prefer to help horses here in Georgia/surrounding areas due to hauling expenses. Loving, knowledgeable home with references provided.

// Forgot to mention that we are willing to sign a "no sale" agreement and offer former owner updates :)

please please consider rescue horses before taking private ones or at least horses that are in danger. Your offer is so so generous, lets make it count and use it where it can best be used.

thanks, I dont mean to be rude but...........................there are so many that are in a really precarious position and good homes are very very hard to find.

WOW !!! that is a great thing your offering to do
Yes!!! yes!! yes! to What Lori at SunKiss acres said, there are lots of horses out there in desperate need of a home and plenty sound enough for what you are asking of them , and with that acreage you could do wonders.
If you only take them long enough to find them good homes here on COTH Giveways that would be such a big help and you will get so much satisfaction out of saving a horse and making someone else happy to get a horse that they could maybe never afford to buy but has a good place to keep it and love and care for it .
One man's Trash is another man's Treasure
Please check in to rescues
I gave a 13 year old girl a horse a couple weeks ago and let her keep the horse at my farm , she has a sight and hearing disability and her Parents have a rough time financially, she has always wanted a horse but couldn't afford it . It makes my day every morning to see her come down the drive on her bike to feed her horse before school and 1st thing after school
she is there brushing and loving on her horse.
I am not good enough with words to describe what satisfaction I get out of seeing the sparkle this horse that someone else didn't want has put in this little underprivileged girls eye This is why I do Rescue , I saved a horse and made a sweet little girl so very happy and proud to have a horse of her own :) :)

Good on you Tricky. HydroPhile, with 200 acres, you could save many horses one or two at a time until you find just what you are looking for.

Please consider this. And Tricky, I too once had a young girl come around to the farm who had special needs and no money. She ended up falling head over heels for a special Coth Horse, CeCe who had special needs of her own. Its been four years and let me tell you, there bond is as strong today as it was then. She in fact has Miss CeCe and my own prior boss boards the horse at no cost except feed. That girl has not missed a single day in three years to come and care and love on CeCe twice a day. It couldnt have been better.

I didn't say I would not consider a rescue horse . After all, my former horse (aged 32 before passing away) was a rescue and a product of neglect, and my current pup is a rescue :) However, I have seen more horses with private owners that are on the verge of being sent off to a sale, abandoned, or neglected due to not having enough money to feed them, job loss, etc., and the already rescued horses have a place to stay (at a rescue) and are in no danger of going to the sale.

I have already received two PMs from people in serious financial trouble due to the economy that don't know what they are going to do with their senior horse(s). Those horses, in my eyes at least, need immediate help that we can provide.

HydroPhile, that is basically exactly what I meant when I said rescue. The ones in rescue are safe, its the ones who arent I am worried about.

Bless you, there are many many people out there right now who want to do right by there horses and simply cant. You are the answer to a couple and thankyou.

We have had more than enough offers from people needing to find homes for their animals; however, we have given a home to two half-brothers and soon to be one blind, senior pony. Because of the time required for these additions, we cannot, at this time, take on any new guys (or gals).
