This was mentioned elsewhere, but I felt it deserved it's own thread.

This years sale will be held December 7 (I'm sure it will be sunny and 80 LOL) at the Alhadeff Pavillion at 1pm.

The WTBA is offering several incentives which include a free buffet breakfast on Saturday morning at the Quarter Chute Cafe, the opportunity to win one of four $500 vouchers towards the purchase of any WA bred or sired weanling or yearling and a free breeding to one of three up and coming stallions to the top three selling broodmares.

Additionally many of the consigners try to make the best out of a winter sale and offer tons of good food and entertainment (well laughter at least).

There will definately be some bargains to be found if you are looking for a race or riding prospect.

Catalog is online here:

I'll be going - I'm sure I'll have to sit on my hands but I love to go and watch.

I am also going...I always go to the sales to watch. I am glad it is on a Suday..Although if it was sunny I would wonder where I was.

Well, if the weather of today holds, it should be a good day....

Hoping for a good day for all the consignors.

The entries are sure abbreviated this year. I love the old Three Martinis mare. I'm a sucker for a runner.

Did any of you go? I saw more than a few show/polo/riding people so I hope you left happy. Several $100,200,300 mares and many yearlings in the $400-800 bracket, but they WERE selling and there were lots of people out.

I went to the sale. There were alot of people there. My daughter was yelling at me to bid on the 3 y.o. mare that went for about $500. I was amazed at how cheap they were going for.
I'm curious about the stallion Snowbound - those were some big babies!!!

Snowbound (big gray horse) used to stand at stud in Yakima; he has since been sold to breed Quarter Horses in California (did you notice the butt on the Snowbounds? You can see why QH breeders would love him.) I believe he has sired a world champion racing QH.

Yes they were huge!!!
I thought it was rather nice to see some bigger boned tb's for a change.
That one colt really did look like a QH - but very lovely.

The Snowbounds tend to be huge and mature very early. I'm not sure they hold up so well as older horses though.

I looked up a picture of him - he doesn't look quite as big as he apparently throws. He's a nice looking horse.
