6 days ago my horse came to me with Bob Hubbard from Ashland OR to San Deigo CA, about a 15 hr car drive. It was a pretty good experience, and he came off the trailer relatively perky and healthy.

I've shipped a few with Equine Express cross country and they all traveled excellent and the drivers are very nice and knowledgeable.

Mike Cox, Cox Equine Transport P O Box 51 Gainesville, TX 76241, has transproted horses for several around here and they have been happy with how the horses fared.
May help if you give a general location, because there are smaller companies that also are good , that someone here has used in that area.

There was a thread about wehaulhorses.com last year, you might want to search for that. Have not used them myself, so I don't have an opinion either way. I have used Okiboji and they were wonderful, but a smaller company. I have also heard excellent things about Bob Hubbard.

Bob Hubbard took my two horses from Wa to Ma in 2001. The horses boarded the trailer in good health and great flesh, and were expected at the boarding barn six days later. They were rerouted (without our permission) and came off the trailer weeks late, weak, emaciated and suffering from pneumonia. My dream horse, the first love of my life, died of euthanasia six months later due to the complications from that deadly trip.

I'll try to do a search, although I usually don't have much luck with these...
I am looking for transport from New York to Colorado.

In the 1970's, Bob Hubbard transported our TB race horses from here to the East and did a good job of it.
I have since only heard good things of them, even lately.
You can ask them directly for a quota, any one of those large companies can get you quotas directly on their sites and some may tell you they can't right now, many are tied up with the futurities.
You may get someone from those big companies to get your horses from the East down the I-40 corridor and then maybe someone else to continue to CO, if they don't have a direct haul up there.

I have used Hauled Right and Griffinsburg LLC both with great success over past few years. Hauled Right is based out of Idaho and GRiffinsburg out of Virginia

How about Wings Horse Transport?
They have given me the best quote yet, but I'd like to hear some feedback...

I've used Wings Horse Transport twice and was VERY happy. They rescheduled pickup several times in the middle of winter due to icy passes, but then arrived on time with several phone calls keeping me in the loop. Decent trailer, well bedded, knowlegeable, talkative guy, very calm with the horses, trips are well routed and horses arrived looking GREAT. Easy to reach on his cell phone and keeps you constantly updated
