In Ohio life was happy and warm, we had that whole day light saving thing, but life was good. This week I worked my horses, rode the youngn a few times and its BACK!

As I snuggle in my blankie looking at snow clouds I can't help but remember, what was it yesterday? nice friendly sunny warm weather! I told my hubby that I was ready to move to winter quarters, he's not buying it or my florida house either!

Its so unfair and cruel! My joints ache, I can barely move, and I am COLD...anyone else?

sigh

better go find my mittens, hat and scarf and dig out those mud boots - it is Ohio you know! Maybe I'll snuggle a bit longer and get some more coco.

Honey - I don't feel well, could you go feed for me? LOL :)

I was sooooooo looking forward to "global warming". Now all I see is little white flakes of "climate change" flittering from the sky... :(

I started off the morning well before dawn, feeding in the cold and then driving to the hay farm to meet Hay Guy at dawn. Sharp wind, bad wind chill, felt like 3 months' difference meteorologically since a few days ago. Hay Guy was not at the hay farm. I looked longingly at my bales (all winter's worth, neatly tucked into a large barn and stored inside per our agreement), but at 1000 per, I can't just help myself. So I walked around, thinking he'd be here any minute, and got colder. Finally got back in the truck to stay warm. Hay Guy arrived 15 minutes late, full of apologies.

So then home to unload the hay (in the sharp wind) and then groom everybody, still in the wind. Brrrrr.

I'm now sitting at my computer working (well, on a 5-minute break at the moment). I'm wearing a T shirt, sweat shirt, light jacket, knee warmer, flannel-lined blue jeans, snuggle rug, 2 pair of socks, thick house shoes, and a Siamese cat. And I'm still not warm.

Brrrrr!!!! I want July back. Whine.

We had beautiful weather all the past week here too--up in the 70s, sunny, comfortable, just gorgeous. But I had to work and couldn't go to the barn. Now I have a 4-day weekend... and it is freezing. All I wanted to do was wrap a cooler around myself and my horse and snuggle with him.

RU2U-
Where in Ohio are you?

I'm in the NE- Chardon to be exact. It's sad that I rode in a tshirt yesterday, and today rode in under armor, sweater, and a light weight coat!

Oh to keep it horse related yesterday I pulled all the horses into the paddocks and locked them up with round bales for the weekend.

Man, ok, I was being kind of nastalgic about Maryland a few minutes ago. Ehhh, I don't miss cold. My young horse is totally bodly clipped and wearing only his fly sheet because he'd sweat to death in his light weight sheet. Bundle up guys! My favorite winter treats are hot cocoa or REALLY hot Chai tea, a hearty bowl of chili, and the most comfortable blanket I can find to cuddle up in.

County, glad to hear my pushing the weather east worked, now if I geve it another shove, maybe we will top daytime highs of 28° and the delightful overnight temps that insist on hovering around 5°F.
Buckets were froze again this am, there was a cat licking forlornly at the frozen water dish, nevermind the plug-in dish IS plugged in and has water in it, and I have to train myself to remember to plug the tractor in whenever i shut it off. Looks like hot water gets dragged to the barn tonight, but that isnt what really irritates me - it ain't but 4:30 and looking like sunset, so have to go put the horses in, then make a late trip to make sure they have enough hay for overnight

Well give me 5 degrees in winter without the windchill over 500 degrees in summer with humidity anyday.
Although right now CT is having a few days of some weird southern weather thing going on...60-70 and damp and warm as heck. Not bad but after all the rain now all my leaves are down and soaking wet and plastered to the ground. It's going to take a few good sunny cool days to dry those suckers oout so I can clean them up! Also the stupid flies came back to life the last few days.

Delaney; Best be careful about your "gloating"...we may all show up on your doorstep!

Barn work, chores, etc. here in Cincinnati was not too fun today! I got used to the nice Indian Summer we were having. Now, today, my lungs hurt from inhaling all the cold...(poor me..)
