Maizey is a beautiful appy mare (even if you're not an appy person, you'd think she's got a pretty face!). She is about 7 or 8 I think. She's registered and was a PMU mare. but has never been bred. She is sound, capable, a cute mover, and super smart. I think she has 60 days pro-training (could be 90) with a reining trainer, so she has great brakes! :) I think she's about 14.1 or 14.2. I would be surprised if she were bigger than that but haven't officially measured her.

This is my mom's horse, and my mom likes the kind of horse that you can jump on after he's been sitting in a pasture for six months and not have to worry about. I'm pregnant and aside from having a baby on the way, have my own horse to ride. If I didn't have my own I would have this mare, I really like her.

The Good:
Sound, lovely, cute mover who could go any direction you'd like her to. Smart, loves people, very sensitive. Easy keeper with a pretty face and great feet (has never had shoes on). Has a halfway decent tail for an appy! She is a soft, sensitive ride who is very forward naturally but has a great jog (the trainer did a fabulous job with her). Knows both of her leads, stops on a dime, will side-pass, turn on the haunches, turn on the forehand. Likes to work, the kind of horse who needs a job.

The Bad:
Very appy (I mean that in the best way possible!) and very mare. Has jumped out of a corral once and out of an arena once when she was in heat to get to her horse boyfriend. Kind of a hussy when she's in heat. Very sensitive (I like a sensitive horse but some people don't). Hasn't been ridden in almost a year so will absolutely need someone to really tune her up and get her going. Not a kids horse, not an intermediate rider's horse, but could be with (lots) more miles on her.

The Situation:
Maizey is just sitting in a pasture not doing anything. It seems a shame since between my herd and my mom's, she is one of the only horses who is sound and not too old or too young to have a job!

My mom would like to find her the perfect situation. Ideally, a free lease with the possibility to take over ownership of her if it works out. Maizey always, ALWAYS has a home here so it would require a contract that she not be sold (EVER) and that she be returned if it were not to work out.

Pics:
This is me riding her at the trainer's (once we brought her home I rode her english in a french link snaffle and I think she went even nicer):

Hi,

You might want to post this on the Texas Horse Enthusiasts' board:

http://redbird.world-net.net/~slim/phpBB2/index.php

I'm a "dang Ayrab" person, but she is cute and you should be able to find her a good home in a jiffy!

Good luck,

Janeene
