We are looking for a BLACK or blue female Doberman Pinscher. (Preferred already spayed...if not, we'll be happy to sign a spay agreement). She must be sweet, housebroken, and ears and tail docked.

We are also looking for a female Great Dane (no brindles or blue merles). Must also be spayed (or we'll have it done). Cropped or natural ears. Sweet personality a MUST.

Would also consider a Standard Poodle as well.

Regardless of the breed....NO aggressive or untrained dogs! They must get along well with other dogs too. Must do well in the house. We are just looking for ONE dog.
Would also consider chain link dog pens, XL dog crates, or ???

What we have: One gorgeous, 1 yr. 9 mo. old Tobiano Paint Stallion with reg. papers. Approx. 14h, One blue eye, one brown eye. He is absolutely gorgeous, but...I think he's mixed with a jackass. He has no manners, can be rude, so someone with experience needs to work with him.

Smart enough to get a pet dog spayed but not smart enough to get a rude stallion gelded???

Yes, but just the female dogs. Probably don't want them bleeding in the house.

Do you think people can be mixed with jackass too? It would explain a lot.

They are smart enough to realize that dogs require training (since they insist any trade dog must be trained) but not smart enough to think about getting the horse some (after it was gelded obviously)?

If they can't deal with a horse, can they really deal with a Dobe or Dane? Not that they're the same animals, obviously, but they're big dogs, canines are more aggressive by nature than equines, and at least the rude horse doesn't typically gain access to your house.

Also wondering why the ears/tail are important for the Dobe...

The colt isn't even two years old yet. Not nearly something the "geld 'em" freaks should be getting all hissy-fit-ish about yet.

Maybe the people who advertised should be spayed. Sounds like they were mixed with a jackass.

So they don't have to pay for it.... just like they won't pay for gelding that boy.

As a double dobe owner, I must point out that their continued listening is only as good as their owner's training abilities. They're not exactly good dogs for anyone who isn't a firm (but fair!) disciplinarian. Hope the horse gets a good home, but probably any careing dog owner who would even consider trading a dog for a horse would recognize the crossover in potential training problems.

As this is obviously my alter, I can feel free to express my relief that I finally have an explanation for what's the matter with me.... I must have jackass mixed in my pedigree somewhere.... No other explanation for that stubborn-as-hell streak :D Thank you Chocomare for enlightening me and saving me years of therapy
