Yep, there were a few of them years ago, a pig to tow, and a nighmare to back up but they seemed to be fairly popular for a while.

Pretty cool! If it is sturdy and roadworthy, It's a good deal. looks narrow though in the stalls, probably not a good fit for big horses, or ones that are claustrophobic.
Wondering what mods it would need to be a 2 horse?

Those stalls look WAY narrow. Maybe it's just the picture messing with me.

Maybe with about $5000 worth of work I'd put my pony in it.

We had a three horse side-to-side many, many years ago. We were showing ponies at the time as my sisters and I were young. I think we only had it a year if I can remember correctly (not because my father didn't like it - he just liked to trade in our trailer every year for something new). It worked good for ponies but nothing bigger. I think we may have had it custom made since you didn't see them very often. I don't even remember if it had a dressing room but most likely it did - three kids and three ponies is a lot of stuff to be lugging around!! :)

I had one like that- except mine did not have 2 center bars down the back- the side with the wider door had a swinging divier in it that hooke with 2 buttchains- I took it out, and hauled one horse with lots of room to stand, and used the smaller side for tack dnd feed.... They are not bad little trailers... and usually they can fit horses who are 15.2 and smaller just fine.

My fat mare would never fit in that thing.

Wow, I haven't seen one of those since I was a wee one! We used to see one or two annually at shows or parks...normally with ponies or smaller horses. They weren't common but you did see them once in a while.

Holy, that's narrow. I would guess any long or regular trailering would produce rubs on a lot of horses. My horses would barely fit in there, and they're not heavily built! Would be fine for ponies, I would think.
I actually saw an older three horse side-by-side/convertible to four horse horse box at a foxhunt last summer (more common over in Europe, I believe). It was SO cool. The truck part was on the front end, and then the back was beautiful wood, three big slots side by side, and then a back area where you could technically put a fourth if need be. I imagine a wider horse area isn't such a big deal if you're not actually towing that area, but part of it.
