Good job.
I clipped my boy this year, again, but I have clipped many times. I still enjoy it but maybe that is because I have not clipped 1000's of horses yet.
My clip job on my boy, I did a full body and left just his legs:

Get good!!!! There is a load of seasonal racing work to do... a seriously good supplemental income!!! I should have perfected it myself, but I am stupid and pay people.

I am good- even my trainer has me clip for her, and trust me, I'd rather pay someone else to do it ;)
Seriously.

amastrike, your clip looks lovely! I just clipped a furry Arab from our lesson program in a pattern almost exactly like yours. The girls all think it looks ugly, but the boys are digging the mare's new "racing stripe"!
I have to say though, it was mare's first time getting more than her whiskers and ears trimmed, and she stood like a champion - I was able to pick up her front legs and pull them forward myself, then clip her armpits and whatnot with no help and absolutely no fuss. I hope your clip was that lovely :)

I hate the hair and the itching and sneezing. I once did a load of raggedy horses headed for Macau. 3 year olds that were handled for a yearling sale and not much since. I think that was the end of my clipping career.. The rain rot and the filth made it hard to do it well. As a result, I also prefer to hire. Though the money made by people who clip is very sweet!

amastrike, you need to post a picture of you riding him with the clip! *Last night we were all commenting on how his clip reminded us of a sneaker design. In a cool way of course.*

Ugh, I did half of my horse last night, but had to stop because I thought I could get away with not bathing him before hand....WRONG! He looks like someone attacked him with the clippers! I'm sure I'll have lines because of all of the dirt I clipped through. Oh well...he's not going anywhere this winter. :D

I hate body clipping and have not done one since college about 8 years ago:eek: This year I can not afford to pay someone so I know my poor boy is going to look like a weed whacker attacked him after I am through!
I am waiting until our last recognized dressage show the end of the month so he wont have to be out in public for the rest of the winter :no::no:

Good job Amastrike! My first time wasn't so hot either, my horse looked like she was wearing corduroy. The second time around was much better! :D
