I'm heading down to Aiken this weekend to look at a horse for sale, and will be bringing my dog. Does anyone have recommendations for decent/reasonaby priced (< $75/night) hotels that allow dogs?
I don't care about star level, location, etc. I would like a clean room, a working shower with hot water, and high-speed internet. ;) A TV would be nice, too, but I figure if they've got internet they probably have television as well.
Thanks!

Go to the Choice Hotels website. They list hotels by city and whether they allow pets. I use them every time I drive down to FL with my little rat terrier.

Yes, all of the Extended Stay and affiliates take dogs. No bells and whistles, but they do have what you are looking for.
The Marriot Residence Inn allows dogs as well.
Homestead Inn much like Extended Stay..

I think most, if not all, red roof inns allow dogs.

The Hotel Aiken has always been dog friendly. And if you drink you can stumble home from most of the gathering places. I not only found them dog friendly but dog knowledgeable. The maids were never afraid of my dogs and even brought them treats:)

The only 3 hotels in Aiken that take dogs are the Hotel Aiken (yes equinelaw, the stumbling can be fun, but not if you have to get up at 5..lol) The Quality Inn (icky) and the Holiday Inn Express (nice, but pricey)
The Sleep in does NOT take dogs...and there are no other Choice Hotels close to any horse stuff

The Quality Inn (icky)
I'll vouch for that. DO NOT stay there.

Hotel Aiken does allow dogs, but only in certain rooms, I think, so be sure to mention it when you book the room.
My dogs enjoyed it there. :)
IIRC, they have internet access, plus a free continental breakfast.
