Just curious
What kind of rideability/temperment does he throw?

I don't think his owner is interested in freezing (ofcourse, with his HUGE offspring sucess, he might change his mind). I will most likely see Mr. Smidth next week, and can ask.
He throws super ridable horses! our Belissimo stallion, Benidetto, everyone can ride (even me, although he is so elastic and swinging). Benidetto scored a 9 for ridability at his 30 day test (one even gave him a 9.5, the highest score there).
His offspring has done very well in shows and auctions.
Sincerely

There is now frozen available in Canada (for 1700 woppers a dose).
Does anyone know what he tends to throw size wise?
Linda, congrats on your boy's scores. He does look super to ride! I was so impressed by the Bellisimo's at the liscencing.

I am lucky enough to have a Benidetto/Don Crusador foal coming next year. With the rising popularity and performance record of the Bellissimos, this could be an outstanding foal.Peg

Since I live not so far from where the stallion stands (and I was there two weeks ago looking at their youngins'), I've seen several and over the summer I had a 4yo Bellissimo stallion (which I sold as a top hunter prospect). Mine had a fantastic character and was very easy to ride. Of course Bellissimo is a "dressage" stallion but I've seen several babies that jump well (sat thru the Westfalian pre-selections and was in Hannover two weekends ago, as well as one I remember seeing in Warendorf at the bundschampionships this Sept). I know this link won't be the best advertisement for his throwing dressage movement, but this is a link of mine former Bellissimo were you can see the swing and freedom:

Will you be in Handorf at the Westfalian approvals? Maybe we'll bump into eachother??...

Thank you fairview!
July: funny you should say that! Benidetto is doing his 70 day test, and they were perhaps "surprised" how well he is jumping under saddle and in the military course.
He is doing his test in Schlickau, jumping on Thursday, but next week is the other final days. Would love to meet you there? I would be the nail chewing blonde......:D
Peg, yes, ofcourse the foal will be a killer :D

there is an interesting colorful colt at the Westfalen approval this year. He is by Furst Grandios and you can see him in about the middle of this video of some of the colts that have been elected to be at the approvals. His owner said he will go for approval and for auction: http://www.gaenserig.de/video/index.html?autostart=true&objekt_id=5

Hello,
I will be importing the frozen semen for Belissimo and Fuerst Grandios into North America for 2009 from Sportpferde Schmidt. Please go to our website http://www.rideauwoodfarm.com for further information. As I am located in Canada, please note that all prices given are in $Cdn.
Belissimo throws extremely rideable, typy foals of normal height with three excellent gaits. Although considered a dressage stallion, as an unexpected bonus, as has been alluded to earlier in this thread, he also is gaining recognition as a producer of hunter/jumper offspring.
Needless to say we are extremely excited and fortunate to be importing both Belissimo and Fuerst Grandios. The accomplishments of Belissimo as a 9 year old stallion are mind boggling. As of last count he has 25 approved sons and 37 Premium mares, as well as many very successful young sport horses as has been clearly illustrated by auction results including this year's Elite Hanoverian auction and Hanoverian Kuering.
If anybody is interested, I do have the 2008 stallion video from Sportpferde Schmidt with both stallions, as well as some "homemade" video of the the recent Hanoverian auction where all three of his offspring are shown as well as Belissimo himself.
I hope that helps!!

I love Belissimo, but it was my understanding that you could not import frozen semen into Canada and then re-import it into the United States, but that it had to come directly from the source. Has that changed?
