Am I correct that his birth registry is Rheinlander, not Zweibrucken?

He is a Rheinlaender.
Zweibruecken = Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar

new flavour of the year...
There is frozen semen available in the US by his son Benidetto. Also a premium stallion at his licensing and owned by Walnut Farm.

Not quite so new is it? At least in my neck of the woods there has been a lot of positive feedback about Belissimo and his get for quite a few years. I think the only reason he didn't become 'flavor of the year' sooner is because he is a redhead and because his offspring often are on the smaller side which still scares off a lot of breeders. I love them and from the ones I've sat on (maybe half a dozen so no critical information) there was not a single one who was not a fun and super rideable mount. I think it rocks that finally a non-black has made it up into flavor-of-the-year-heaven :)

Great write up Fannie Mae!!!
Belissimo M pedigree:

An interesting mix of great old names.......breeding is such an addictive cr*p-shoot! I have been amazed at the hyperboles we have within our program usng Dekor (Durchlaucht-Radetzky) and his children. Some of my favorite crosses have been to Abundance children (quick hind leg from Absatz).

Yes, Beltoni is here at the Pidgleys place and he is super!!!! A really WOW! mover
I am a big Belissimo fan now. Beltoni's mother is also a very good mare that is still having foals. She is bred Rubinstein - Don Primero going back to the Hanoverian mare Akrobatin. I don't remember the name of that mare line, but it shows up quite frequently.

Fannie makes an interesting comment in her article about Belissimo...
She states that he possesses great mechanics and looseness, however should be bred to mares with a quicker hind leg and impulsion..
From our own experience, we have found when using this Bolero/Grande blood this is true in the youngster in hand or loose, (this makes them a bit less attractive to compete in hand, and not as easy as other bloodlines to market young) but they most certainly offer SO MUCH more once under saddle, and develop as a "complete package". Their internal character and intelligence enforces their abilities to develop as fast as their fitness levels and physical strengths allow, making them an absolutely delightful ride.

I will second Magic Rose comment! The lovely Bolero, Grande cross in her prepotent stallion, Beste Gold, really gives super movement and excellent looks to his foals. There is wonderful, harmonious balance to his foals, which is very appealing too.

Re: Belissimo M: four years ago I bred my States Premium mare, Rotissima (Rotspon/Lauries Crusador xx) to him. The resulting offspring, a now three year old gelding, can be seen in the Hanoverian November auction, number 11.

I was looking around for a semen broker who would have him and I was told by two that his owner did not want to export his semen... cant figure out why he is available in Australia but not the US... any way it would be great if they could get it , I have the perfect mare for him..

Beste Gold's wonderful carrying capacity may also come from his Abundance (Absatz) dam line. He is a lovely stallion and very prepotent.

Hello,
I will be importing the frozen semen for Belissimo and Fuerst Grandios into North America for 2009 from Sportpferde Schmidt. Please go to our website http://www.rideauwoodfarm.com for further information. As I am located in Canada, please note that all prices given are in $Cdn.
Belissimo throws extremely rideable, typy foals of normal height with three excellent gaits. Although considered a dressage stallion, as an unexpected bonus, he also is gaining recognition as a producer of hunter/jumper offspring.
Needless to say, we are extremely excited and fortunate to be importing both Belissimo and Fuerst Grandios. The accomplishments of Belissimo as a 9 year old stallion are mind boggling. As of last count he has 25 approved sons and 38 Premium mares, as well as many very successful young sport horses as has been clearly illustrated by auction results including this year's Elite Hanoverian auction, Hanoverian Koering, as well as the HLP results from Warendorf and Adelhiesdorf where at each test a Belissimo son was Champion Stallion .
If anybody is interested, I do have the 2008 stallion video from Sportpferde Schmidt with both stallions, as well as some "homemade" video of the the recent Hanoverian Elite auction where all three of his offspring presented are shown (lowest price of the three was 140,000 Euros) as well as Belissimo himself .
I hope that helps!!
