Wow! Beautiful foals! I am so jealous of all the wonderful breeders who have perfect-looking foals all throughout their "foalhood"!

I bought my filly at 5 months old, and she was the ugliest, least-put-together, no parts-seem-to-match creature I ever saw. I wish I had a picture of her scanned in to post, but I'd be too embarrassed!

To tell the truth, the only reason I bought her was that I had recently lost the love of my life (TB) to blister beetles in hay imported from TX, and Rosie had similar color and markings. I actually turned her down three times, but her breeder kept calling me to say she really liked me and wanted Rosie to go home with me. And she kept lowering the price. Ok, Ok. It wasn't until she was 11 months old that she started looking like a horse instead of a jigsaw puzzle of various horse bits!

Fast forward three years, and her impeccable halter breeding has come out, to the extent that Western riders stop in their tracks to stare at her, and ask if she's for sale. (Of course she's not—after all the Evil Princess and I have been through together, she's got a home for life!)

Plans? Are we supposed to have plans??? LOL! He was bred to be sold....but then his mother died when he was 3 months old and she was so amazing I cant even think about selling him anymore...SO..we are keeping him. He will be my next horse I guess...we were asked if we thought about keeping him as a prospect..but I dont know about that.....

Here is another one...

Beautiful Castlegate! It is so fun having a young one!

Pablo sure does pass on those cool tails. I have at least seen 4!

Good luck with him. Do you plan on showing him in the hunter breeding?

So sorry about his mother. That is terrible. Was she a hunter or jumper?

Thanks guys, Im glad you all like him...he's hard not to like..he has all that chrome so he has an unfair advantage!

Samotis: His dam was my upper level dressage mare...so right now we are hoping he will be my next dressage horse...but hey...my background was hunters...I can always go back to accomodate the little fellow...

today is his 6 month birthday...which means we lost his mom exactly three months ago today...still makes me cry...little guy has been through a lot..but you'd never know it!
