Area V eventers and anyone who has been to Greenwood.

Christie Tull is in hospital after a fall this weekend. Please please jingle and send prayers her way. I don't know any details but she is in stable condition in the ICU.

From Area V:
Area V members, please put your thoughts and prayers together for Christie Tull's recovery from a serious fall. Christie fell from a horse this past Saturday. She is in stable condition at the Harris Methodist ICU (Ft. Worth). She has suffered three fractures to her pelvis, broken ribs, a punctured lung (which partially collapsed) and a contusion to the liver.

The ICU does not allow flowers or gifts, but cards are welcome.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this. Keep us posted Texaseventer. I was actually supposed to contact a mutual friend of Christy's and myself this week so I'll see if she has an update. If you talk to her family pass on my well wishes! ....Lisa Cheney

*jingles*

This is what I got from the Brazos Valley Hunt, which Christie plays a huge role in (she is a Whipper-in):

Saturday afternoon Christie had a bad fall from her horse at the
Wendy Hilton, Steve Smith Clinic at Greenwood Farm. Apparently while
sitting on her horse Levi, she was in the shade drinking water when
another horse bolted, scaring her horse. Christie was taken to
Weatherford Region Hospital, then sent to Harris Methodist ICU in Ft
Worth. She sustained fractured ribs with a partially collapsed lung, as
well as a pelvis fracture. The orthopedic is scheduled to meet with
her this morning to make a decision of how to stabilize her pelvis.
Terry was with her last night (Sunday)and said Christie would prefer no
visitors at this time, at least until she is feeling better. I will
keep you all posted as I receive information. Please keep her in your
prayers.

Christy is one of the most generous souls I know. Hers was the first place I ever schooled XC, and throughout the years she's been kind, understanding, generous, and helpful in SO many ways. She embodies what I love about the sport (and horse people in general).

I'm sending thoughts, jingles (still don't know exactly what that is, tho), prayers, and anything else I can muster.

Thanks for the updates. I hope you keep 'em coming.

Got an update from Brazos Valley Hunt today:

UPDATE on Christie, she is in surgery as of 12:45 Tuesday to put screws
in her pelvis to stablize the fracture. She is expected to be on a
walker for a few weeks when she goes home, so we will put together a
dinner and visit schedule so we can take her and Marvin some goodies
and see if they need help when she is ready for us.

Meredith, thanks for the update :)

I make a MEAN lasagna and also a great taco casserole. Let me know how I can help - if they need some freezer meals or anything else, I'm here. (I'm only about 1 hour away from GW).

Hugs

Best wishes from the two little California birds she so graciously hosted this spring. She is a true class act, and was so kind, helpful, and welcoming. I went through a pelvic fracture with a close friend. It's no fun, but there is a riding future afterwards--so tell her to keep her chine up.

Sending healing thoughts!

From Sandy @ Brazos Valley Hunt:

The Greenwood Farm web sight said that Christie had surgery yesterday
to stabilize her pelvis. Her recovery has been changed from 90% to 100%,
however, it is going to take time. She is expected to be discharged
from Harris Methodist in 5 days or so. She is reportedly feeling better
but is still not ready for visitors, please be respectful of this
request. I will keep everyone posted. Sandy

10/13/08 Update from Sandy @ Brazos Valley Hunt:

UPDATE on Christie: She has been moved to a private room, however the
Doctors are requesting NO VISITORS at this point. She is doing better
but is exhausted from the therapy they are putting her through, please
respect that wish. She may go to a Rehab center upon discharge to help
with her continued therapy.
