Does anyone know if Kim Peterson is still doing saddles, specifically Black Country?!?!
I need to order one for my new horse and Kim's website says something about it being sold to a different saddler?!
She was so helpful with my last purchase! I'd really like to go with someone I trust unless anyone here has a recommendation for a saddler in CA who does a good fitting. My new horse is young and much different size/shape than my others. I know I want a Black Country and am fine ordering directly from the UK but I'm unsure of the tree size.

Kim was going through a divorce and the business went by the wayside as part of the settlement, I think.
She said she would still do purchases for past clients who knew what they wanted/needed (probably not demos anymore). I was able to reach her through her personal email which was on the old website.
I agree, she is wonderful and I hope she decides to try again with this business when things settle down.

I'm sorry to hear about Kim's situation, but very pleased to hear that she may work with me!
I purchased two saddles from her last year and will be needing two more. I also have three barnmates that are wanting BC's too.
I will try emailing her again off of the site. I appreciate the info:yes:

I have bought two Black Country Saddles from Trumbell Saddle & Tack (or something like that - you can google them they are located in Vermont) - they were so awesome to deal with -- they could not have been nicer and they will work with you on shipping etc. - they also let you ride and I mean actually RIDE in the saddle for about a week to try it out... I ended up buying both of mine because they were so helpful in making sure they sent me a good fit... since I bought mine (dressage and jumping by the way) a friend at the barn bought a jumping saddle from them and also had a super experience.. I would definitely recommend them to anyone especially for Black Country saddles.

You can also order BC saddles from www.allenglishtack.com (http://www.allenglishtack.com)
I too have purchased through Kim and she was always so helpful.
But I have ordered bits from AET and they too are pretty good. I can't speak to their service regarding saddles, but at least contact them and see what they can do for you.
I LOVE my customized BC Quantum! Best saddle ever!

I recently bought a BC from Trumbull Mountain in Vermont, doing it all long-distance. I had wither tracings done, took photos of my horse's back with and without their demo and ordered one with specific customizations for me and my horse. It went well and I'm happy wtih the saddle.

I second (or third it) for Trumbull Mountain. I also did it long distance for a very hard to fit Brigitte. Before dealing with them, I would not have thought I could get a good fit, etc. doing it long distance. Very nice, easy to deal with and right on with their suggestions. Did I mention I love my BC!!! I've always been a hard core County Stabilizer lover, but my old one did not fit my girl. I'm loving my BC as much as my old Stabilizer. Now if I could just get the Stabilizer sold, my pocketbook would be much happier.

Another Trumbull MT & BC fan!!! I am saving my pennies for a BC dressage saddle and maybe two more if my father in law keeps his extra horse :)

My barnmate just purchased one from Advanced Saddle Fit. She rode in it today for a ride we we were on and she loves it.

Jen Wright at Happy Horse Tack, Fort Collins, CO. She has been priceless to me as I live far from any tack shops. She fitted my hard-to-fit Appendix long distance by using photos. Love my Black Country saddle, she knows them well and her prices are the best. My trainer bought a saddle that Jen subsequently reflocked for free. You can demo any saddles in stock and actually ride in them, for days. No wrapping the leathers in seran wrap required.

Good luck
