Darlin Dancer is a total sweetheart that I gallop and needs a home now because the trainer needs the stall and she's not paying for her keep. She has four white feet and a blaze. Gorgeous! While the bottom picture makes her look a little downhill, she's not at all. Sound and very sane. Needs to go yesterday!

Very flashy - should post on the hunter forum as well.... too far away for me to look at even though she's a red mare!

Hey I think there was someone on Off Course a few weeks back that was interested in her and asking opinions of her confo and stuff...
Maybe they'd still be interested... I'll try and dig up the thread.

Flash, I did a search for the thread and didn't find it but I swear that search never works for me, bugger. HunterKid, she is in Farmington, NY outside of Rochester. She's such a total sweet heart and did I mention PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE!!!! Come see her, fall in love with her like I have, and take her home. If I didn't have 4 horses and a 4H trailer and I would have already. I can help with shipping within reason and if anyone wants her started u/s that can be done as well.

She's mega cute.
My only problem is that I'm about 4 hours away. =[
Do you have a video of her by any chance?

No video, HK but take a chance. She's an awesome horse for cheap cheap cheap. I'll meet you half way if I have to. She has to go to a new home somewhere this week! Anybody, can't you find a stall in your barn for this bargain beauty?

Um, isn't this 'advertising a horse on the boards'?
Which is highly illegal by COTH standards?
If it's a give-a-way that's fine, but your last post says, "cheap, cheap, cheap".... ?? sylvia

Just to clarify, Dancer is NOT a rescue horse. She is a OTTB listed with a non-profit adoption program. Big difference! Somebody, anybody, please consider this sweet heart!

Anybody heading west via ND? Hubby said no, but I bet if she showed up on our doorstep he would't turn her away;)
I know there would be no way I could sneak and go get her a little to far.

She is lovely. Looked at her pedigree and saw the Gone West one back on her sire's side. She looks a lot like a Gone West filly that I sale prepped last summer. She was a yearling at the time and was QUITE a fancy mover and very, very easy to teach and work with. Very feminine and classy young horse. What OD04 is saying about this filly jives with my experience with this particular GW filly.

She needs to go by this weekend! Cheap guys! Think less than $1000. Maybe even much less. Sounds, sane, four white feet, blaze. Couldn't ask for anything more!

I agree - like you said. She IS a nice horse. I like the way she is built with good size, bone, put together well. Great color and chrome. I don't care about the small bow - doesn't distract or take away from this quality girl. Her feet look great and she has a good eye. All the 'stuff' that I look for in a prospect.
Someone go and get her.

For those of you who are in the south and think that means it would be too expensive/too much trouble to do - think again! I had a FL beastie sent to me a few weeks ago for less $ than it cost to have a lease horse sent from NC.
There are options! My guy had to be out quick and too. There's a nice trainer with a farm down the road from the track who picked him up for $15 and warehoused him for a very reasonable fee until he could get a ride.

The 2 trail horses (boarders) are leaving my backyard barn on Oct 15. If she still needs a place to go by then, it's possible. My barn kinda stinks in the winter but I could take her over to where I board my horse to exercise her.
Though then I would have 2 chestnuts plus one red-head son, that's scary.

Any updates? Did she find a home?

She is even more in need of a home than she was last week. The trainer CANNOT keep her. She has to go somewhere, and I haven't a stall to spare at all. If anyone has any availability to take this wonderful mare, you can call me at 615 969 8994 or contact her trainer directly at (315) 513-3414.

Is she free then since he is desperate to get rid of her? You can post her on giveaways.

Her sire Dance Master (http://www.jehstallionstation.com/?id=10&story=294) was among the leading 2 year old sires in '08.
Honestly, if I wasn't TOTALLY overrun I would be driving to NY to pick her up. Somone PLEASE go get her!!

OP, is she free or is he still wanting money for her? I can't stand when people say they are desperate to dump a horse then want a grand for it especially when an auction would bring them $400.

Guys, I can't get her either, but I can share that there is a FingerLakes trainer that has a farm in Ocala and during certain times of the year makes the trip up and back every two weeks. He hauled a FL filly for me several years ago for $400 and kept her at his farm until I could get to Ocala to get her.
They were awesome --- had gotten her some exercise after arrival, given her a bath before I picked her up. The trainer that I bought the filly through knew him and helped work it all out.
I would not hesitate to do it again. :) I brought her in for a friend of mine that couldn't keep her so she ended up with another friend and has become a mom and is doing great!
This trainer would have been happy to drop off anywhere along his NY-FL route, so if you are interested, TALK to the folks up there and see what you can work out!
She's beautiful, but I'm chock full at the moment and took a pay cut this month, so I am not able to add ANYTHING.

Olympic Dreams is arranging transport and all the other details. Darling Dancer should be coming to my place some time next week. Officially she is my project horse...but we'll see. Future eventer hopefully. I've worked with young horses before. I like to do a lot of ground work and calm, confidence-building things under saddle. So I'll do that all winter and see how things go by spring. Look for her at the bucks county horse park next summer - starter trials or Thursday Mornings.
Apprjumps - you will have to tell me why that is a good sport-horse pedigree. I don't have a clue about such things. She is related to my gelding (and that is not nescessarily a good thing!) by nijinsky. She also looks very much like him except has is 3 white socks. Especially that high set tail!
I hope I'm doing the right thing and can handle the challenge. I was 12 years younger (and had 2 less kids) the last time I worked with a 4 yo OTTB.
Then I have really important decisions like keep her name or change it...

Congratulations! Good luck with her. Let us know how it goes. I've always heard it's bad luck to change a horse's name but then again, some of the TB's get HORRIBLE names.....
