Available currently for free lease within an hour (or so) of Gaithersburg, MD. NoVA, Frederick/Montgomery/AA counties?

15 year old 16h+ TB gelding. VERY well schooled. Nicely tuned to proper, educated rider aids but can tolerate a secure rider still learning tact. Previously a 3'-3'6 jumper and eventer. Has NOT worked consistently or shown since 2006, with previous owner. Since April, hacking and schooling 20-30 mins, 3x per week. With proper reintroduction to work, should be available for anything.

He is sound, per last week's vet lameness exam. Not 150%, so started on Adequan Saturday to ward off even slight stiffness.

Looking to find a conscientious lessee with good horsemanship and a stable environment. 6 month lease. Long term possibility with satisfactory 6 month evaluation. I fully intend to cover his feeds, maintenance meds and/or maintenance vet appointments throughout to ensure he is sound, healthy and happy.

Pictures (http://www.flickr.com/photos/30899443@N03/) (some 2 months old, some recent. Sorry no action shots)

Videos (http://www.youtube.com/user/LarissaHeaddy) are nearly all of the recent ones on my YouTube account

Please PM with inquiries.

I see the Giveaways forum exploded! Would still love to see this guy get a new rider who has time for him :)

MDEventer... He's a nice looking guy... and what a great deal for someone! Sound, experienced horse, and you are willing to continue covering part of his costs.

Good luck, I am sure there is someone down there that will enjoy him!!

SUCH a sweet guy. I'm not doing him any justice with the videos I've got [never meant for my YouTube to be publicly displayed!]. Had someone take them to highlight MY issues in the saddle so he's not even working, could have been sleeping through it for all I cared! I've got to get some new ones but I'm just in time for a rainy, colder week. Ick.

Thanks for the bump :D

Still available. Getting less and less work with the shorter days :( He doesn't mind the vacation, but I just KNOW he'd be wonderful for and happy with someone wanting to fine tune their riding/compete in the spring/enjoy a horse that knows his job!

He sounds awesome, I wish I were closer! (My parents are, but I doubt that counts for much ;))

Thanks for all of the inquiries. As of now, he's going to stay with me (yay!) and try to become a winter show pony for one of the barn's younger riders. Will update if anything changes!
