Aged TB gelding in WARWICK, MD looking for a home. 20 year old or younger 16.1 hand, gray, gelding owned and ridden by a timmid novice rider for 6 years. You can pull him out of a field and hop on with out a problem. He is very uncomplicated, quiet and easy to work around. The owner can no longer afford to keep him and has abandoned him at my farm and moved out of state. He was starving and his feet were a mess but is now UTD on all shots and his weight and feet look great. When I finally contacted the owner about payment, she said she was going to DISPOSE of him at New Holland!!!

Location? Rough age estimate would help too.

So has the owner agreed to let you give him away to a good home? Be sure to have them sign a bill of sale for whoever gets him so they can't come back later and claim him. It is so nice that you have kept him and gotten him back on his feet most would just drop him at the sale themselves. Poor guy... I will ask around and see if anyone is looking.

It's too bad I live in Florida:( I'd take him in a heart beat. Been looking forever for a nice uncomplicated trail horse for some of these awesome trails we have in North Florida. . .

Soundness, ability level? Would he make a good lesson horse? (I mean, at a farm that takes good care of its lesson horses.)

Over the hill you need to get with The Evan Effect on Cowboy in the
Post " Gorgeous APHA gelding needs a home" Cowboy is a great horse and very beautiful. Your close enough to ride him home . I would give him a good loving home in a heart beat if I could get him to knoxville,Tn.

I hope that this horse didn't go to New Holland today... I hear that there were a LOT of horses there. Not good. Can you please let us know where you are so so someone can try to help? If this guy goes to auction he'll likely go to slaughter in this market.

Tricky: I did e-mail her for pictures and he is a gorgeous horse. However, I just lost my 26year old mare to laminitis, navicular, founder last year. She foundered the first time when she was 11 years old. I just do not know if I can face the possibility of that right now. It was extremely difficult to watch her as she suffered through the bad days. . . I have a mare right now with a broken hip point and with the stress of that am watching her for signs of laminitis as well. One can only deal with so much at a time. I hope she finds a good home for her beautiful boy, though.
