 It looks very strange to me, maybe its the photo playing tricks on my eyes. Does it look strange to anyone else?

It looks like his back right leg is going to touch where his front left leg feel. It looks like he is really twisting under to me, it may just be me though, just wanted more eyes to know if its normal because he is engaging???

I think it's a combination of the angle from which the picture was taken and the bend he has in the picture. It looks to me as thought the RH is going to land in the spot where the RF leaves.

Ditto - could be a combo of the weird angle of the photo plus the bend. That being said, I used to ride a mare with an old stifle injury who moved like that until she got the strength back.

This is myself and my horse ;) Not pulling someones picture for comment. Thanks, I thought it maybe just the photo playing tricks with my eyes. He use to have weak stifles but they are very strong now with all the hindend work

to much of an angle so horse has used his legs on the same side, meaning to counter act what ever you was asking he wasnt balanced

It looks like he is twisting his right hind leg inward. I would have someone look at it if it is something different recently.

I'm not terribly surprised. He's got alot of angle to his croup and looks like he can really step under. However, he also looks like he doesn't have alot of suspension. This looks very similar to the shot that used to be used for "On the levels" - the training level video - where the hind leg was stepping exactly into the footprint of the foreleg and without suspension. I don't know, it looks like your inside leg is slightly back for a legyield behind (like moving his haunches out or correcting falling haunches) and your horse is responding by stepping under and moving the haunches. I don't see anything wierd, personally.
What kind of horse is he?

Look at photo #6 - he's not clearing that front foot out before the hind leg lands.

The only picture I looked at was the one that come up in the big screen.
That picture alone, it looks like the picture was taken about the same time the horse is about to move his haunches to the outside.

He can step really well under himself. At this show he wasn't ridden for a week and only had a 5 min max warm up before this class so he really wasn't stepping under as much as he usually does, he just wasn't really loosened in his muscle to do it nicely. In that photo I was using my inside leg so he wouldn't let his haunches fall in on the turn. I've just never seen it that extreme and wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. :) He is a morganXappendix. Thanks for the opinions Oh and JLu he doesn't have any suspension

Much in the picture is good.....What I see in the legs of the horse is a rider that slightly collapses her right side, keeps her left hand higher than her right hand in almost every picture, both which serve to over bend the horse to the right. The right hind would then be "falling in" (horse going haunches in) on your turns. The unusual placement of the inner hind plus the not matching legnth of step of the outer fore is caused by your collapse and the rider pushing of the inner hind out of the circle and turns. The way to correct this is not to push the inner hind out, but to stretch your right side up long so your shoulders are level, ride with whip between your thumbs so you can make your hands level, then position the shoulders of the horse in front of the hips. Inside leg stays at the girth to control the quarters.
In a correct circle or turn the horse adducts his inner hind and outer fore. Your horse is adducting the inner hind, but abducting the outer fore.
Again, much is good in the pictures, but we all can work on the minor details!
PS probably a better training regimen available than a week off and a 5 min warmup before a show would have him moving better....

His schedule is usually 1 trail ride a week plus 3 days of ground work and over poles and 1 day jumping and sometimes I'll throw in an extra day of flat work depending. His usually warm up is about 15 min. because he will die out in the ring if I go longer than that in the heat down here. He had a week off because of a hock infection and the show was running early so thats why we only warmed up 5min. That really helps me see WindsongEQ, I've never realize that about my hands, we'll work on that ;)
