For those horse and rider age combinations totaling 100 years, The Dressage Foundation has a special program to recognize you and your horse called The Century Club. Any potential members here?

Sorry my mount was inconsiderate enough to die ahead of me, leaving me several years short. :(

As the rider population gracefully ages and sets their sights on The Century Club, I'm seeing a new market for horses in their 20s and 30s. ;)

It's not how you look, it's how you feel. 1007 next week with the youngest greenie.

I have a client that is doing her Century ride at the RMDS chmpionship/open show this weekend. She is 76 years old and is riding her Hanoverian x Arab who is 24 years old. She has been part of the dressage scene in our area for decades. We are celebrating with a brunch after her ride!

There is a lady at my barn with a 26 year old arab. I think they both have about 3 years and they will be at it. She has set her sights on that. She is not really interested in showing, but is excited about the possibility of that ride.

so one must be 70 years old with a 30 year old horse?
80 with a 20 year old?
I am 51 with a 19 year old. We both feel pretty old.

Yes, combined age of horse and rider must be 100 or more.

I believe that the rule is that the rider must be 75 or older.

57 year old dressage horse, ha ha....
But seriously, my long term riding goal is to be able to keep riding into my 80's, so I CAN join that club. They are my inspiration!

No restriction like that; any combination that adds up to 100 or more is eligible. The rule is here:

98 here and hanging on...although I doubt we'd count because I'd need a crane to mount these days, or a handicap ramp, and his prefered gait sleeping in the sun...
