Dover's shipping costs are SO high I can't justify shopping with them anymore unless I absolutely have to. Instead I order from The Farm House (free shipping on full priced items and a friend of mine) or from Smartpak (with a coupon code usually). There are so many places to spend our money in these hard times and any place that allows me to spend a little less gets my business.

If you go on google and search coupon codes, you will find them for 100's of stores. They put them out there because they know it attracts customers!

Coupon codes and the internet are a well known mix- when a company with a good business plan puts out a coupon code, they know it will be used and shared. However, when it's shared, it's free advertisement.

If you let someone use a free shipping code once, and they become a repeat customer, you've come out ahead.

Speaking of promo codes, I just ran into a problem with the Equestrian Collections promo code they just sent out by e-mail ($10 off using the code VDAY09 through 2/14). While the e-mail doesn't show any minimum purchase requirement, there actually is a $100 minimum for it to work.

When I used it to buy something that cost $45, the system told me the code had been accepted and would be applied at the end of the transaction. Except it wasn't, and didn't show up in the final confirmation e-mail. So I called to ask about it, and they say it only applies to orders over $100. When I told them that's not what their e-mail ad says, they said sorry, they still couldn't apply it and they would get their IT people to fix the ad. They did then call back and give me discount, but you should be aware of the mistake.

The Equestrian Collections website actually never works for me. That has to be the worst website out there. I wanted to look at their sales stuff and jsut kept getting errors.

SmartPak is very smart. Free shipping means I order more from them. If you have free shipping codes out there, I will find and use which means instead of grudgingly getting a $30 order for a supplement, they get a $70 order with other items I may have purchased elsewhere.

Dover's shipping policy pretty much guarantees I won't buy from them. Actually, several other (non-equestrian) stores have similar policies and I don't buy from them either. And I have noticed, the higher the shipping price, the slower the shipment comes in.

Okay...I'm really, really getting frustrated with this. These never, ever work for me. I've even tried creating a brand new email account and user name after logging on to a completely different computer and it STILL says it's invalid :confused::mad:

Tritec gallon size, regularly 49.95 is 15% off if you also buy a quart of it too.
go to www.jeffersequine.com (http://www.jeffersequine.com) and order, and after they process your order, you get a credit back on your card or paypal for 7.11. I kept asking them since I couldn't get it to work before I placed the order, and I got the credit when they processed the order.

I just ordered their dog food to try with my golden retriever who has some allergy issues. Price was good and has been well-rated on retriever message boards and some whole foods dog magazine. Apparently they are known for more than the horse supplies.

No, you are not stupid, that is where it goes.

You have to hit the button that applies it too. I know I missed that one of the first times I tried it.

This is what I do, too. I just used the DFS59 code for my July shipment and it worked fine. I have had my guy on Smartpaks for a few months now and haven't paid shipping yet!

Since I always complain when service is bad (hello -- State Line? Dover? are you listening?) I must compliment when service is good. I have always loved Smartpak's service. A few weeks ago I ordered a new helmet and some other stuff from them. I used the free shipping code and a discount code. Got the stuff fine, but the helmet was too small, although it was the same make and size as my old one. Sent the helmet back (which wasn't cheap, but you can't avoid that) and asked for one size larger. It arrived today (fortunately it fits) and I expected that although I'd owe nothing because I'd exchanged the same helmet for the same helmet, I'd owe shipping on the new one. Nope. The invoice shows a charge for the helmet and the shipping, and a credit for the entire amount. Thanks again, SP, I had already planned on buying from you again, but every time you do something nice for me, I feel even better about buying from you again. I so hope your customer service policies don't change as you grow bigger. And I hope you don't get bought by the company that owns State Line.....:no:

SmartPak needs a special "Happy Birthday" code that you get to use once a year on your birthday :D

Now, that is a fabulous idea! Stagecoach West sent me a birthday discount card last year, but I didn't make it there to use it in time... and this year we moved and they don't have my new address, so I didn't get one. I would love a SmartPak birthday discount for all customers!

Question: When entering the free shipping code, what will it look like on the checkout page?

I entered one of the other (now expired) codes yesterday, and after the page reloaded I got a message saying that the code was invalid.

I tried YFS59 today. After I entered it, the page reloaded, then nothing appeared. When I entered it a second time (thinking that it didn't work the first time), I got a message saying that the code had already been applied.

But there was no visible change in the shipping total - still 7.95. Will it show up on the invoice in the package instead?

Goo, email smartpak, that's what I do, about the free shipping code. Like I will right now, if I can use that code again, I used it last month.
You just log in to your acct, and then send an email to smartpak saying you want to use the free shipping code.
someone will email you back and tell you that the code has been entered and that you have free shipping.

Remember, these are the customer reps who went downstairs and looked thru a flymask to tell me about the visibility for my horse.

Thanks to the tip by someone above who said the free shipping code would end yesterday, I accessed my account and used it for my shipment on July 17th. You can use them ahead, you just tell them. I got the email back today that I've got the 3.95 (barnbuddy) off of my July 17th shipment.
I got a catalogue yesterday but don't see a new code in it. I'll look at the website that someone here posted, the no paying retail website, and see if there is a code there.

Next code that you see, apply it to your next shipment instanter. My shipment is outside of the expiration date, but I asked yesterday and my wish was granted.:cool: And I used the same shipping code last month too!:cool::cool:

I emailed them, as suggested by another poster, and they absolutely WOULD NOT provide me with a free shipping code. I am a "automatic" every month customer, too. In addition to ordering other stuff from time-to-time. I guess I don't order enough to offer me free shipping. However, I used the code provided earlier today in this thread and it worked anyway.

When you open to your account page you can ask questions, see the box where it says "change order" or something like that? Open it and
simply type in as your question "May I use (and put in those last 2 codes the one I had and the one afterwards) and ask to use one of them for free shipping.

You have to tell them the code, but they will apply it, and will respond and tell you so.

Something that occurred to me - if you're copying & pasting the code into the text box, it usually comes in with a trailing space. Not sure if that matters, but that might be the reason some people are having trouble with some of these codes.

To see if you have a trailing space, you can either double-click on the code to highlight it and see if the highlighting extends beyond the last character of the code, or you can click in the text box 1/4" or so *after* the last character, and see if the cursor is tight up against the last character or not.

If it looks like it isn't, hit the backspace key and see if the last character disappears.

Worth a shot, anyway...
