This is very hard for me to post, but I want to put this out there to feel the waters, so to speak.
I am looking for a retirement home for my horse, who, due to a knee injury is only sound on and off. He would do best as a companion on some acreage where he can move around and enjoy being a horse. He is a gelding and gets along well with other horses.
He has a home here with me, but unfortunately, I only have about 1/2 acre fenced on a dry lot, and am looking for better living conditions for him. I'd also like him to go somewhere warmer... Denver area maybe?
The LAST thing I want to do is for him to be taken and disappear and end up emmaciated or living in horrible conditions, so a place where I can visit and keep track of him is a must!!

I don't want to put too many details on here yet, but if you are looking for a companion horse, please PM me.

Thank you.

Hi there,
I wanted to post more information, and maybe get some brainstorming here with what can be done with my guy.
Aladdin is 13 years old, I've owned him for over 10 years. He has carried me over many miles of trail, won me many blue ribbons, and together we have sailed over many fences, even trying our hand at fox hunting.
I am by no means trying to "dump" him, and his welfare is of utmost importance to me.
Over the past few years, the arthritis in one of his front knee (due to a previous injury from his youth) has worsened. He is on and off sound, despite injections, medication, etc, etc.
The problem is that I live at high altitude, where it gets cold and snowy in the winter. Not the best environment for arthritis.
Sure, there are ranches in the area where I could board him, but most have Tposts and barbed wire fences, and since he's had a few run in with those in his youth, they just won't do.
Other places offer stalls or very small runs, which won't help either.

He is a beautiful horse, with good manners, but is also spirited (Arab cross) and not suitable for lead line or as a therapy horse.)

So if someone is looking for a companion horse (it can also be just a temporary placement for the winter), please let me know.
Or if anyone knows of someone with some acreage and safe fences, in Denver or even the Springs, please contact me.
