Tall Oldenburg Gelding - currently 16 months old. He is by Samarant (Sandro Hit/Brentano) out of an Elite Verbands Premium German Oldenburg Mare that score tops in the USA. She was one The was one of the highest scoring mares earning 9 for walk, top line and 8's overall. She is 16 hands by Don Gregory (Donnerhall/Graphit).

This colt was born with a number of neonatal developmental issues. He had a valgus knee, he was contracted on both fronts and was windswept behind. He spent the first 2 months in the hospital in braces learning to stand. He has had periostial stripping and check ligament surgery. He is quite tall. attractive, elegant, long legged and will be over 17 hands. He is a little too friendly due to all the handling he had as a foal in hospital and rehab so he is learning his boundaries and requires a fair but firm manager.

He needs a knowledgeable horsemen to raise him, to manage his orthopedic issues including regular visits to his farrier Paul Goodness.
I have seen moments where he moves like a beautiful big time dressage horse. I do not think he will be a High Performance Dressage horse, but he could bring great joy to the right person. He needs a low performance stress home.

Wow, How great of you to pull him through all of that, and then look for the BEST home for him!

I know it is hard NOT to spend a bunch of money for the sake of those big sweet baby eyes that KNOW they ARE perfect in every way!!

We had a foal born last year that got pneumonia on day two... We cought it within a few short hours, and rushed her to Tech! 14 days of respiritory therapy, 3 plasma transfers, and a lot of 24 hour care and all she has to show for it all is 2 tiny scars from where her cathiter (sp? I just tried to figure out how to spell it and it did not work for me) were in her neck! She is a bouncing sweetheart, that is going to knock everyones socks off in the hunters! :D

It definitely costs a LOT of money to do care when something goes wrong, or they have contracted tendons.. I know my vet charges a min. of $200 per IV fluid drip of LA 200 (muscle relaxer). And that has to be done MANY times in severe cases..

I hope that your sweet boy finds the PERFECT home! Please pass along photos of the boy-- jazzylea2@aol.com
