A friend of mine is wanting to go to Aiken this winter to ride with an ULR. Does anyone have any recomendations?

There are lots of options as many descend on the area in the Winter. To find out who is there you could review the results from the 2008 Area III Winter eventing season, but the usual suspects are Jan Byyny, PHillip D (et. al.), Heidi White, Bonnie Moser (Orangeburg, SC), Susie Gornall, Kelly Temple, Kim Severson, Nad Noon, Becky Holder plus others... sorry can't remember them all.

There are also good local trainers that are there all year long that don't charge the ULR rates. :-)

My friend and I spent a week this past winter with Sally Cousins. She was wonderful and we learned BUCKETS.

Carol Kozlowski. Babette Lenna. Actually, the real question is 'who ISN'T in Aiken in the winter'?! Aiken is a gas. We'll be there.

I'll agree with the above posters regarding Lellie. She's got years and years of experience (on many different horses) at the Advanced level (both here and in England), and is wonderful both on the flat and over fences.

Not to mention too that Lellie's farm, Paradise, is very aptly named!!! it is by far one of the coolest properties in Aiken... and that's saying something.

Dont forget Craig Thompson (Aiken Event Horse Sale), Shadowlane Farm.
Lellie is good, but often very busy. Stephen Bradley, very nice and if you can get a hold of Will Coleman - good too. And also Kim Severson (I think previously mentioned), Phillip Dutton if money is no object. If you want to brush up on your Dressage, Shawna Harding. If you want to perfect your stadium, Aron Vale or Daniel Geitner....to name just a few (more).

Aaron Vale is no longer in Aiken...Daniel is very good though. Craig is actually in Wagner and is a solid 35 minutes from the center of Aiken without a trailer.
