I thought I'd post the link so that we could all learn a little more about her. She seems like a "real" horse person.

Well she certainly has my support! Way to go Gina and Mac, the two of you ROCK! Have yet to watch the show jumping, so am trying to stay away from too much discussion, though I know she did get silver and was damn close to gold. I hope she gets one hell of a reception when she comes home!

Congrats to Gina! She is an amazing rider and person, warm and responsive to her students and horses--no one has worked harder for this!
And on a side note...
Area VI is finally showing its eventing chops this year, at Young Riders, the Olympics, everywhere! Here's to a great year and an even better next season!

WOW! Just now watched the sj finals.....even though I knew the ending, it was still nail biting til the end...I kept hoping that maybe I read the results wrong! God, I love that horse, he is amazing!

For the first time in a long time, I actually ADMIRE and LOOK UP to a rider and horse combination. Well done Gina! I grew up watching Mary King ride in the UK and was so happy to see her ride well too, but I was really happy to see Gina oust her from the medals. Gina did it with grace, didn't run her horse into the ground or yank his face off (which I saw way too much of) and didn't have to "cheat" by using weighted boots. I also love Becky and Comet and hope their uncharacteristic poor ride doesn't shatter her confidence. It was Gina's day and we all need to support her!!!!

Gina is fabulous, and I still remember seeing McKinlaigh go around at Training level. To you east coasters, she seemed to come out of nowhere, but she paid her dues on a lot of random California-bred horses, getting them to go around, before that one nice Irish horse came along.

Big congratulations to Gina! I did not expect that big horse to come out on top under the conditions of this competition, but it just goes to show what a lot of hard, careful, understanding work and a little help from the eventing gods (;)) can do! Very well done!!

What a wonderful ride on a wonderful horse! I was bummed that I didn't get to see them run at Rolex this year but Gina was gracious enough to stay for her course walk on Friday (which was wonderful and informative).
Finally, this year, a big story US Eventing can be PROUD of!!!!!

I sat next to Gina at the Safety Summit in June. She is a very nice person. She has eventing's interest at heart, too. She brought up the problem that Rider Reps are having with TD's, about them not listening to their concerns. Apparently, they still are not listening, since I recently had such a problem, too.
Gina, you did the USA proud! Great job! :D

yeah, Gina rocks.
She spoke at our banquet this year and was very cool.
She is not an ammy though. The commentator labeled her an Ammy right after she jumped that 2nd clear round.
: )
Nope.

Nope.
I was wondering about that .
Now the gold winning German dentist, he is a true Ammy. Too cool.

She has an intermediate horse, Phillipa, but I don't know if she's an international prospect or not. She definitely needs an up and comer to work with. :D

She hasn't competed Phillipa in quite some time, and I believe has mostly been going to jumper shows with her. Really, really neat horse, but the last time I saw her at Woodside a few years ago, had some serious issue in the warmup although came in and jumped around clean.
