An on-screen interactive menu is available on USA network (#242)

While watching this channel, push the red button on your DirecTV remote. A menu of schedule, medal count, and trivia will appear in the lower left-hand corner. Use the up/down buttons to highlight your selection.

Press the "SELECT" button. A list of the various networks will appear with their schedules to the right. Again, use the up/down buttons to select the various networks.

Once a network is selected, pressing the "right arrow" button will let you scroll up and down the schedule with the up/down buttons. The "left arrow" button returns you to the channel menu.

Press the red button to exit the menu.

The red button also appears to work on any of the listed channels only while it is carrying an Olympic broadcast. Otherwise, use the remote's "Guide" button.

Well, that is thrilling!

Equibrit, you don't have a red, green, yello, blue line of buttons under the menu button (above the volume, channel and number buttons?

I think it is only the "cable" channels...or at least USA. They did the same thing during the PGA tourney yesterday on TNT, but it doesn't work on NBC.

I love the feature, though!

We taped the Equestrian broadcast this morning. The quality of the network coverage has greatly improved since the fiasco 4 years ago!

Anyone else think those stars on the China horse's butt were just a bit WTD?

No - it's a sort of eventing groom's traditional thing to do - and I'd bet his groom is British!

an off topic question for all those who hold dual citizenship...which country are you supporting? For me it varies depending on the sport. In eventing, well that is a secret!!!...but go GB

Should have clarified its not the remote you get with the receiver.

I was not debating whether you have directtv or not just the remote.

You mean I'm meant to have yet ANOTHER remote? And - what is it for?

No you dont need another remote. That one should be just fine for regular viewing as far as I know. Only thing is you probably dont have the buttons to get to the menu thing.

So each one of these is for a different brand of receiver used by DirecTV then - yes?

First one is for the regular directv. The second was for the original tivo and then they switched to the third remote. Not sure when though.

(slaps forehead) Duhh! Didn't realize it was Eventing Dressage! Mebbe I oughta to read the schedule guides closer.

That remote looks like one from the first DirecTV receiver we bought about 15 years ago.
