Henri de Reval also just came out with a reasonably priced monoflap that I sat in at Rolex and was quite pleasently suprised. I have never ridden in it, but it was quite nice on a saddle rack.

geez, everyone is trying to cash in on the "chiberta fad."
seems nice enough, but the flap is waaay too vertical for my taste... and long legs.

Ditto eventergirl, probably woudln't fit my leg, but it is pretty!
It would be nice to not have to pay twice the price for half the leather.

I just got done placing a special order with Dover for TWO of these saddles...that right not 1 but 2! I ordered one for my sharkfinned TB-surprising they fit him well and one for my boyfriends first cross country saddle.
I was pleased with myself and decided to browse the internet and you all are talking about the same saddle!
I'll let you know how much I love it when I get it. =). I have a Vega that fits most horses but of course not the baby TB. Not sure how the leather will compare but after trying it I think it is going to be well worth its money for a quality cheaper saddle!
I hadn't seen the HDR monoflap yet...I know I'll be browsing for pictures of that next.

why does everyone love monoflap saddles?
I hate the way they feel. yuck.

I love the way they feel. I used to think they were hideous. But after riding in them I feel way more secure and much more in direct contact with the horse.

Of course this is just my personal opinion, but Toulousse sent me several of them to test out and I was very unhappy. It isn't balanced properly, and the flap is long and straight. They are actually discontinuing them, and changing another model to be their monoflap for next year, because these just didn't work. I also couldn't get any of them to fit my tb's...the medium tree is the narrowest they make and were too wide. Again, just my personal opinion.

I took the mono on trial and bought the same model without the mono. I didn't like the way they attached the mono flap. That was the ONLY part that on the saddle that showed a weakness. I LOVE the leather and the fit. My friend has a Devacoux (sp) and she tried mine thought it was a great alternative. I can't afford the big name, but it is a great fitting saddle and helped my position dramatically. For the price I would buy again.

Please, oh please, tell me that they are not going to change the Premia to a monoflap!!!

Are they making the Legano anymore? (I knew I should have bought two!)

I am trying to remember what they are going to make in a mono-flap...I think it is the Legano, but I could be wrong. They are going to offer it in both mono-flap and regular. They are not getting rid of any other models except some of the lower end generic ones, like Simone.

Thanks. My first Legano is 3 years old and is starting to show some "character". Of course, most people probably don't cross deep rivers in them  I should have bought 2--and saved one for showing only.

They sell the Passier military up here at a store called Bahr's.....I am taking one out on trial but the $3,600 + tax totals a whopping $4,068. (You know, in the event I win the lottery in the next year.)
I saw one for sale used at $1,600 but it was brown and by the time I found it the girl had sold it! :) Oh well.
If anybody else knows where to get one (new or used!) pass the secret along....
