I am a small farm (2 horses) in Newtown Square, PA. I was using a hay farmer that I was very happy with until my last 3 shipments that have progressively gotten worse quality as the prices rose.

So I am not on the hunt for hay. I need a quality grass mix for a reasonable price. I can pick it up or get it delivered. I am trying to stay away from hay auctions for several reasons (one being I can RARELY get to one). I cannot buy in enormous bulk as I only have two horses, but would consider trying to split a large load with a local farm.

So I know there are fellow SE PAers here, where can I get some hay??

I am moving to SE PA this Oct/Nov. I am worried about finding hay at that time of year, so I would love to find a source as well. I have a great hay source here in MA right now, but moving 300 bales to PA does not seem feasible.

Yes and now it is more urgent. I just opened a letter from my hay man stating they will be going out of business:eek::no:

So who does everyone in the area use?

As I said before I cannot go by hay auctions as I can rarely get up to them and I would like a supplier I can use over and over again.

But in the mean time, does anyone know where nice hay is available? I will come get it or pay for delivery

Gap, PA area. $4/bail of really nice, REALLY NICE, alfalfa-rich hay. Nice and rich. Nice and heavy. Also, cheap shavings.

I will have some extra very lovely grass and timothy 2008 small bales as we sold some horses. mbjenny@mac.com
