View Full Version : Fly sheet - does a rescue need it?

I have a fly sheet that has some holes chewed in it (damn mice). I was going to toss it then I thought perhaps a rescue would like to have it. It is certainly still usable, just not pretty enough to go on a racehorse heading to the saddling enclosure. When brand new, it looked like this (http://pets.webshots.com/photo/2709402720056365630PmzUnZ)

I am sure the holes could be patched or just left alone. I prefer it go to a rescue organization that can use it for a needy equine. I can't recall the size exactly, but it is either a 78 or 80, navy and hunter, fairly nice quality before the mice got to it.

Sunkissed Acres would probably like to have it. Don't have the address on hand, maybe Lori will see this.

JessiP- I know the horses I have for CANTER MA could use it! You know the bugs in central delaware will darn near carry you away. It's pretty funny to see the western people drive by and wondering why my horses are wearing blankets in the middle of the summer:lol:

Jess... PM me your mailing info. I was just thinking about you yesterday - and how excited you were to be getting Lost Crop as your next pony club mount after his career as a racehorse was done (remember him?). You were about 8 years old at the time I think. And you are still helping transition racehorses 20 years later.:yes:

Yes, 8yrs old getting my first OTTB..what were my parents thinking:lol: All was good until he got stung by bees over at the pony club and he showed me just how fast an ottb could go as we breezed around pony club, in between the rings and finally I bailed out when he jumped the dressage ring. Then he ran across the road and hung himself up in a lady's clothesline. I think mom could have killed him then but it wasn't his fault. Did you know he went back to Charlestown after that and won his next two races??? Terry always said that was the fastest work that horse ever did:lol: Good memories.

I like to stay on the good side of the racing industry and working with CANTER has been the perfect opportunity to give back.

I will send you a PM.
