Logan is a 16 hand, 8 year old gray thoroughbred gelding. He is absolutely bombproof and beginner safe. He's being given away because he gets heel sore when jumped, and can't keep up with the full time hunter lesson program. He would need a child or small adult (won't stay sound with someone heavier) who wants to ride on the flat (can do a crossrail here and there but no regular jumping). He is easy to ride, very quiet, does both changes, very cute hunter & has great manners. Stays sound with a kid or small adult - not lame all the time or anything like that, but wears pads up front, won't be one that can go barefoot. Lots of turnout helps him not get sore too. PM me for more details, or you can contact the owner (Holly) directly at mistery_72@msn.com or phone number is 860-377-8299. Located in Lebanon, CT.

Just going to vouch for this sweet guy! I rode him two years ago at an IHSA show, and he was kick-along quiet. A lovely, lovely horse!

What a beautiful boy.

I wish I could afford to ship him down here.

I am looking for one just like him.

I am offering a permanent home,we have 10 acres and 3 horses[all here for life],

2 of mine are unridable but not ready to be PTS yet.

I mainly trail ride[more like amble] and DO opening hunt[walk trot at the back].

I do SAR on one but he really hurts my back on long rides.

I am old enough to know better, but grey TBs have my heart.;)

Holly he sounds like a potentially great horse for a therapeutic riding center, so you might look at www.NARHA.org for a center near you. I'd take him in a second for our program if we weren't so far away (IA). True he's a little taller than we prefer--hard for our shorter sidewalkers to work with a 16h horse-- but he's well trained, sound at the walk and trot, and bombproof? And relatively narrow framed to boot? sheesh we'd be thrilled to have him for our more independent riders.
So, maybe check into NARHA if you haven't found a new home for Logan yet.

Took some video of Logan today - sorry not the best quality, my camera is on it's very last leg. Will get the better camera out there once my hubby brings it home!

Have you posted on equinesite.com BB? Looks like a sweetie. and why do people think TBs are all fast, flighty and crazy...

...he probably is being careful to go slow and stay under that rider ;) they CAN feel a fly on their side afterall! Sending this to a couple of friends in New Eng.

what would you call a small adult? weight limit? how much could he carry if he were on sand and only walked and jogged on once a week? jogging meaning on and off 10 mins. could he wear boots and go barefoot? we are not talking about real riding. that said, would he get sour if he were not ridden often?

did he have a race career?

As far as weight limit, we're talking 130 lbs max. Our rings have great footing too so that's what we ride him in (although he's fine out on trails and grass and such too) and I think even if the light riding you're talking about he would still get sore with someone heavier. I really do not think he'll stay sound barefoot in boots... he wouldn't be sour if not ridden often no, and yes he was off the track like 4 or so years ago. With the pads & shoes Holly has on him now, and he's also on Isoxoprine (just started that recently and it seems to be working really well), and making sure just the kids ride him or a 130 pound max adult, and lots of turnout, she's finding this is the best regiment for keeping him nice and sound.
