We have recently had to cancel the Champagne Run FEH (Future Event Horse) class due to lack of entries. There seems to be a lot of interest on this board to go to these shows however the organizers are not receiving your entries. If we want this series to continue and grow we need to support the shows that are holding the classes.

River Glen currently only has 2 entries, please if you are interested in taking your yearling, 2 or 3 year old, call Deborah Lovett at (615)300-0211.

Both the FEH & YEH are way down on there entries for this show and are in jeopardy of being cancelled.

Please help this show fill!

I've entered with my yearling colt, and know of another person who has recently sent her entry for her two yearlings.

Bensmom? I'm in Mobile, aren't you in Tallahassee? We could trailerpool??

We would love to take our three year old colt but the Omnibus says that River Glen is only doing yearlings and two year olds...:(

foxhavenfarms -

The Omnibus must be a misprint. The Future Event Horse Series is for yearling, two & THREE year olds. You are welcome to bring your 3-year old colt.

Hope to see you at River Glen!

Anyone else on this BB planning on going? We are already entered and I'm afraid the other one of two that are mentioned as being registered. Would really love to have these classes go on as scheduled.

For those who have not yet entered, how much of a late fee would they have to pay? From what I was told I think the class fee was printed incorrectly. Also, I believe we were able to pay much less to just have a stall for one night versus the entire weekend and I don't think that was indicated in the Omnibus. Perhaps people are thinking it is more expensive/less flexible than it is for showing these youngsters in FEH. With fuel prices being high, owners could be easily put off by what seems like high entry and stalling fees.

Can you confirm stall fees and class fees for those who might be interested and thought it was just too expensive?

We're no where near there, but I think in my area there was a lot of interest, but not great press with which shows would be including it etc. They'd cancel the classes before the shows even opened, so that can't be blaimed on entries.

I'd reallylike to see more of these classes, I think it's another great venue for young horses, but I think in years like this, where entries are low all around, there needs to be better advertisment of where these classes are etc, even if it's just on some BBs liek this.

We were entered in the Champagne Run FEH, very disappointed that it was canceled. Actually, just figuring out how to register for it was discouraging and confusing. It would be nice if registration could be done the same as the event riders. We're working with a lovely yearling with the bloodlines and potential to be a great eventer and the closest class was in KY. With the price of gas we can't justify driving all over the country just to show a baby. :( I think the FEH classes are a great idea. Maybe better promotion and easier entry process plus keep the fees down and the numbers will go up. I think having the YEH and FEH at the same show would help also. Just my .02

The Future Event Horse Entry forms are now printed in the back of every Omnibus, they can also be found on line at www.useventing.com. Just click on the FEH logo on home page and it takes you to everything.

The fees for these classes are $45 and one night stabling at River Glen should only be $30. River Glen is running the YEH with the FEH. They do seem to work well together and I hope that more organizers that hold the YEH will soon start offering FEH also.

I don't believe there is a late fee but if your interested a call to Deborah Lovett (615)300-0211 could answer all those questions.

Thank you, Dawn, for posting.

Not only was it disappointing, but as you said, confusing. Also, I spoke with someone in the USEA office several days before I faxed in the entry for the colt above, and was told that she was "pretty sure" the FEH classes at Champagne Run had been cancelled. I asked for a contact to confirm cancellation, rather than send in entry forms, fees, etc. only to have everything returned. When I did call the contact, I was assured it had not been cancelled. Then, several days after I fax in the entry, I am called with the "news" of the cancellation.

I understand if there are not a lot of entries, particularly as the program is just starting up. Perhaps it would be better to run the classes with just a few entries and allow to program to grow? Just a thought.

I was bummed about Champagne Run also, and it's just too far to justify the expense of one class for my 2yo to go to River Glen. :(

I understand that the gas is CRAZY expensive right now and that is probably a big reason why entries are down across the board at all shows.

YOU HAVE TO ENTER IF YOU WANT THIS SERIES TO MAKE IT!!

I am sorry for the two of you on the board here that were entered and the class was cancelled on you. However, it is not realistic for an organizer of ANY event to pay a judge an extra day to come in and judge 2 or 3 horses. The judges do have to come in a day early to judge this class. That costs money folks!

If we want this to work we have to get more people behind it in this area!

bumping to stay on the first page.

I am hauling to this from Mobile, AL, and will have one spot in my trailer open to anyone wanting to trailerpool to this event!

Good gosh, Gillenwater can't attend now which means we are the only entrants in both the yearling colts and yearling fillies. Please come to this event. It will be embarassing to win first place by default. Moreover, we need to support this series. I believe they will still accept entries.

The FEH (Future Event Horse) & the YEH (Young Event Horse) will DEFINITELY be held this weekend at River Glen. Those of you that would still like to go please call ASAP and the show organizer will work with you on getting your horses in.

This is such a nice, well run event and we ALL need to support these 2 programs to help them grow!

I would SO love to come with two babies and definitely WOULD if it was closer, but at 487 miles with diesel so expensive we just can't do it.
We really need another venue to step up a bit further south (GA or FL).
