I'm looking forward to our first post-injury outing. Will be going open novice on the Muttly Pony. Have folks from our barn going through elementary, so from 11:30 to 4:30, I'll pretty much be hanging out, so let me know if you need cheering, grooming help, etc.

I will be there but not riding (my filly is having some soundness issues, and my new rescue horse is nowhere near ready for any public venues)- but Ginny will be riding Chuck (Reprieve) and Daretta should have Pixie there- both MAHR horses- probably others as well, last time out there were about 6 rescue horses there!

I will be there, riding my spotted pony in OE division. We should have a secret hat to wear or something- how do COTHers know each other?

I will be in Novice Horse and my classes pretty much end before you get there scubed!

EDIT: Just reread that and realized you will be there early and have nothing to do from 1130 to 430? That's a lot of down time!

Shorty (my hair extensions OTTB) is going to his first HT! We go at 1ish, then 4ish... thankfully my rents live in Elkton so i'll be able to entertain myself.

Congratulations to Meredith & Shorty who were 2nd in their division at Fair Hill. Way to go at their first horse trial!! Maybe everyone should be out there looking for eventers by Mr. Greeley.

If you talk to Meredith, ask her about feeding the wrong horse. It's a very funny story in my opinion.

Maybe put a Smurf-blue ribbon in your horses' tails?

We were there! My daughter got first in her division (one of the Novice divisions). I screwed up my first chance at a blue ribbon in Elementary Rider by missing a fence in Cross Country after a great stadium and a 38 in dressage (my best score yet). What a stupid mistake! Oh well. Maybe one more Elementary and the big move up to Intro!

I was not there, but GRC was! Hope everyone enjoys their photos.

I'd like to take my guy there for the unrec., but with the cost of gas, plus stabling possibly, it seems more efficient to do a recognized event closer to home!

Thanks Evalee, and thanks for your hospitality as always!

Shorty was GREAT this weekend. I can't beleive that a few months ago he was a race horse! We've been taking it slow training wise and actually been having trouble with stadium jumping (he had a habit of plowing through the smaller jumps). I was really nervous that we were going to have 32 faults in our stadium course!

Dressage was not as good as it could have been (his tiny legs can MOVE!) because the mare we came with was very upset and kept screaming to him and I was trying to help her rider (my good friend) as well as warm him up. The judge was... umm..observent in stating over and over that he was tense on my test and besides that told me i was a "tactful rider" and when I told her it was our first show she said "yea.. you need to do it 100 more times" ...mmk!

ANYWAY... He was a STAR in stadium, no rails and no sweat

He trucked along x-country like he's been doing it his whole life too! The girl before me fell off so that wasn't fun, but he didn't have a care in the world.. some of those jumps were bigger and wider than anything we'd ever jumped before either.

Overall I was so happy with him and I can't wait to do the next one, I love the ribbon but i'm ever happier to have finally done a HT with confidance.

and I did almost take one of the beautiful stallions from Evalee's barn to the horse trial because apparently I can't pick my own horse out of the barn!

If it was a black horse at the trakehner jump, it was me - yet again failing to overcome my fear of that jump and getting kneed by my horse in the process....sorry for the trouble...wasn't planned...

Nah.. we were doing the tiny course, no trakehners!

then I'm glad I'm not the only one that had a bad day...misery loves company and all.....

Congrats on the ribbon, by the way, and glad you didn't actually take the other horse to the show - that would have been embarrassing!

Muttly pony put in another "self-designed" dressage test, but finished on the craptastic dressage score. I volunteered down in the dressage rings from about 12-2, so that filled in some of the spare time. Heard that some competitors got to self-steward due to a volunteer gap. Saw some very cute ponies. Was glad to not get rained on much. We do need some smurf-like ID object. Hope everyone had a great time.
