Wow - this is the first time I've seen videos as comprehensive as this (so far I've just looked at the 1st set). The difference in the novice and training speed was huge!

I love the first prelim horse and rider. She sits so quiet and doesn't take anything away from her horse that just looks like he is out for a Sunday stroll taking care of his mom. Good pony earned his keep, she should be quite proud!

The rider for the GH2 Nov/Training video is incorrectly listed as Clarissa Wilmerding on Mystery Man II, who actually placed 6th in OI. I believe the rider for the N/T video is Kailyn Schmitt on Romio.

Great video. I would love to see my horse's ride on Youtube (#68)... hint, hint, hint. Seriously, RNS does a great job. I'm buying mine and have 3 from past events.

oh wow! The Open Intermediate video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rdFWmDjL9c) is of Emily Daigneault and Misty Vale Bacardi, a MORGAN (bounce bounce!) I met this team at GH I (where they ran Prelim) and what a nice young woman and wonderful -- albeit opinionated!!! -- horse (hence those dressage scores, um.) I met them right after they ran their X/C and Bacardi looked like he wanted to go out and do it all over again.
They got 8th place in OI and won the YOI prize for the best scoring Young Rider at Intermediate.

RNS-
thanks so much for the videos!!! I soooo wanted to watch the GHF II XC that weekend but already had plans on saturday. I was thrilled to have the chance to get a taste of the excitement today! :D
Great work as always, LA!

I am always struck at just how beautiful, rolling, forward and green this venue is. It really is just lovely. Ann and crew do a GREAT job...always.

I'm friends with the rider on the first Prelim horse- it was their 3rd horse trial together and her second Prelim with him! She was very happy with her ride- he's a wonderful horse!
I'm actually the rider on the Novice horse, we did run on the slow side but finished under the optimum time. He was a catch ride for me- both my horses are injured and a friend loaned him to me a few days before the event- it was my first time out XC with him and his first recognized Novice (his second Novice ever, actually). I only got to jump him twice before the event. It was great fun and very generous of my friend to let me take him around!
We both ordered our videos- but it's neat to see the footage early- and makes it easy to share it with my friends (and the horse's owner)! Thanks RNS!

I sooooo want to go to Groton House. I'm a bank junkie.
OMG I wanted to chase that prelim rider with a crop. It was painful.
Be interested to know if she had time penalties..ne900?
I really truely believe that you have to run faster in Area V to make time.
I'm drunk off those banks though. OMG I love um. Loved the bouncy bank up. (dreamy look in my eye)

She did have time penalties, 6.4, I think. She was actually one of the faster rides at Prelim and won her division.
You would love GHF II then, which also has the sunken road at Prelim!!

I was fence judging the skinny at the top of the banks (so watched the banks too). I was impressed with how forward a ride it was. Anyone who came in slowly had problems. The forward ride was rewarded.
It was WAY cool to watch.

I figured it was pretty close Prelim time; and I figured the Novice was pretty right too - it just struck me for the first time the difference in the speeds.

I was 3 seconds faster than optimum at Novice. The prelim rider was 16 seconds slower than the optimum time.
