I know some of our riders will be doing their qualifying runs at Barbury. For those interested there is video preview clip of the event on the Barbury website (with a quick interview with Mark Todd) as well as clips from last years. SportTV.uk in the past has posted clips of the competion a few days or week after the event too. Enjoy : )

I was lucky enough to attend this event when I was in England 2 years ago (kinda planned it our vacation around it, actually!). Amy was the only one there from the U.S. at that time, and we cheered our hardest for her! She said she heard us...
It's a cool venue, with the last four jumps taking place in the stadium arena. They gallop down through the vendor fair to get there. That was fun! Also, they have a replica of Stonehenge as one of the jumps, and Nessie, the Loch Ness monster, is in the middle of one of the waters.
Go U.S.A.!

I was marveling at how they have the exact same dolphin-in-the-water jump as we have at Red Hills until I realized CMP is the course designer at Barbury. You can certainly appreciate his love of the carved animals on that course!

Interesting...if I followed the schedule correctly, the CIC*** does dressage on Thurs-Friday, show jumps in the morning on Sunday and does xc in the afternoon. Looks like a beautiful venue...and a very big event! Hope everyone does well!

Wow, Headly Britannia with a 30.8. Not bad for a little chestnut who's not the world's greatest mover! Those Fredericks are sure hot.
Anyone know if that "Before I Do It" in Section B is the sibling of "Better I Do It"? I remember there were two of them.

From the webpage of Barbury HT
"The CIC*** course:
There are going to be major changes made to the course in 2008 which will aim to make it horse friendly and provide a flowing run."
Interesting.............................
but good to see!

Gully's Pilot: Are you sure those are final results? I think that is just the dressage+stadium results. I can't find x-c results reported yet, and they were running x-c AFTER stadium on Sunday.

anyone got the link for the final results? I can't find it...

Either it is a combined test, or no x-c results have been posted yet. I did a search for Fox-Pitt, and none of his Section A horses (the three-star) are showing x-c results. The five horses he's showing in lower divisions all show results for all three phases.
Got to be getting to the end of the show day, though....

Can some of the single girls/ guys on the board quickly marry us a team
There's got to be a few single riders in the top 20 that want to go to the olympics.

Well..It looks like most of our riders had a nice outing.
Poor Clark :(. I doubt the selectors will forgive him for the 20 penalties he had, but we'll see...If his horse stays sound and the others don't then who knows...
I also really doubt the selectors will care much about the time faults -- even if they did have a lot. Amy had about 30 time faults two years ago at Barbury before she went to the WEG and jumped a double clear XC to win the individual bronze, so I don't think time faults will matter much at Barbury.
Looks like Karen, Amy and Gina all had nice solid rides. Interesting that Gina's horse pulled 2 rails. I would have put money on him jumping a clear in SJ.
Well...less than a week until The Fork...
