Yep. There's definitely a crossover effect as references to crayons/fairy tales/trolls/etc. jump threads.

Constantly asking myself, "Now WHICH thread IS this?"

Erin, Congrats!!!
OK, I'm getting a new image of a bachelorette party with lots of coloring-related gifts...

:DThanks!:D

Ummmm...Bachelorette party was a couple of weeks ago. We were joined by "Bob" a 6-ft Crayola-Peach-colored...ummmm....crayon-shaped inflatable....well. You get the picture.

Not sure I'm taking the latptop or not - someone else may have to take over. :( I don't know what I'll do without my COTH CCTL Cheese Witch Fix.

I think I may be getting confused. But is the plan that Erin will convince her new husband that they must "color" in the English country side and visit Kookicat who is queen of the cheese witches, and consult with the recently knighted Farmer Dave about the demon spawn, and if said child has committed more acts, Erine is to come back from honeymoon and report to us here.
Then, as I understand the "Plan", which first requires someone to win the lotto, lol, we will all suit up in our crayon colors, head to the BBQ at Blind Alter's, and straighten out the crayola trainer. Then, we park the buses/trailers at the airport, and, covered in BBQ sauce (sweet or sour, take your pick) and smelling of beer, we all board an airplane, with captain, uh, is that hunterjumperSC piloting?, and head for England, hoping that the fabulash stallyon manger is not lurking to report us as possible terrorists, bend on harming a "misunderstood" youth, and then we arrive in UK where we all head over to KookiCat's (and we can help with the fenceline) to see what witchery she has been up to with cheese. If the child is being good, we simply visit and have a cheese and wine party. If child is has been bad, we load her up in haveahart trap and take her to Camilla (whom Bonny Prince Charlies should have married years ago, she is a good equestrienne) and let her take care of the kid (off with her head!) and back to the Queen of Hearts).
While in Londontown, we, who have been clever enough to have brought some of fleur de duc's marijuana straw, seek out Amy Winehouse, and ask her to perform Hunter Princess's version of "Rehab", in exchange for us lighting up the straw.
Then we all head back to the states, with maybe a swing by Middleburg to see if you know who has worn his crayon down to a nub coloring by himself, and maybe to see if the woman (forget where) is wearing inappropriate underwear at her barn or if the horse tied to the fencepost/cattle gate was really the stud who is named after his sire.
Then we all go home, color, and clean stalls and groom horses.
Keep up the great stick art people.
And yes we do need lots of songs to sing on the bus/trailer and airplane.
Like "We're off to see the chesse witch, the wonderful witch of cheese,
Camembert, Brie and Cheddar, whatever the cheese you please.
and more songs. and more stick art, please.

And how can they "retire" colors? Doesn't that warp those who loved those colors as kids and cannot find them now? And that crayola hall of fame, is it in Blind Alter's hometown? Wait, didn't someone here live behind the crayola factory?

Oh they retired them alright and, some years later, brought them back with a big press release. I managed to get myself invited to the press release and got a FREE tin with the retired colors. Still have them in a closet (most likely melted by now). I actually boarded my horse behind the factory. If possible, may I have one of the Wild Strawberry shades? I really need a trip. The last one I went on was White Trash Dressage.

BuddyRoo

I would like to interject a short story about my short bus.

I lived in TX at the time. We (my fiance and I) were there because he was in ENJJPT --Euro Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training)...blah blah...

Anyway, so he and his cronies were in pilot training and liked to party. For a time, I was making several trips from the bar to various houses using my itty bitty Pontiac Grand Am as the DD.

That's when they bought "the bus". The bus had a set of long horns tied to the front, Christmas lights strung throughout the interior, and all bus riders were issued football helmets with glued in long hair wigs to wear as they were tossed out the door at slow speed during their evening drop off.

I drove that bus all over Wichita Falls TX for the better part of a year. Once, landing at a strip club. There is just something about a short yellow bus with long horns parked in the strip club parking lot that gets attention.

Sigh.

Anyway.. . I am quite good at driving a bus...short or otherwise. Just in case you need such talents. ;)

I have resisted picking a color because I don't want to fully admit that I am addicted to this thread. But...when I looked one of my fav colors (ok, not really my fav color but a pretty good assimilation of orange and pink...which are my fav colors...ok, after green...crap...I just love them all) was still available so I think it is fate. Could I be apricot? And does this mean I have to ride at the front of the bus since I am first on the list? :( Everyone knows all the fun happens in the back of the bus.

Perfect and the yellow color will be perfect primer for the orange yellow color of the outside of the pack, I mean bus. Plus 84 seats ! Fabulous, that's seating for a box of 64, an extra 16 pack and 4 seats to spare. Now I am really going to cause some problems with this but... did you know you can get a CUSTOM box of 64 crayons. You can even get several of the same color in one box. So no need for any conflicts over colors we can have more than one, but you will need to sit together on the bus, plane, train or trailer.

Pssst. Should we say something about horses so we don't get in trouble?

I used to have a coloring book of horses and I loved it! I'd have lots of palominos, buckskins and pintos - hardly ever a bay, black or chestnut. Speaking of chestnut, what color crayon d'you think would work best for that? Burnt sienna? Burnt orange? I have a pinto mare that is chesnut with a flaxen mane and tail...she'd be hard to color.

Gosh, Erin, it depends on the shade of chestnut horse. Light chestnut, liver chestnut? Plain old orange would work for some chestnuts, others that burnt siena or burnt orange. Then there's "chestnut" -- if they still have that color. I remember seeing "brick red" at one time. That would be good.

And if it's a sorrel, what's a good color for the mane and tail? Maize?

Y'know, I need to go outside...

You can use the burnt sienna for her, as that's the reddish color with gold flakes, or used to be. I need to go buy some crayons, last bought were in Dec. for a vet's 3 kids, the big carousel of crayons at walmart. I didn't know then that I should have bought some for comparison for this thread.

With the drunk mother going to KookiCat's at 2am, do you think Erin that you and your soon to be husband could swing by there and straighten things out a little? Hmmmm, wonder if anyone is honeymooning near Blind Alter's place?
Oh and watch out for that fence, I suspect that KookiCat has upped the voltage, and the mother of satan's child won't be able to get her hair down for a week.

I am late to the party (always) and came over here form the "child in my pasture” thread. I just had to see what all the crayon references were about. Next it's off to the stick art thread.

If there is ANY shade of green left I'll take it. I actually was a green crayon for Halloween once as a kid. (I will have to see if I can dig up an old photo!!!)

We are waiting for BA to be able to post. She had to quit cause of legal action, we think. So we are keeping this horse related, by reminising about coloring (the old way) horses in coloring books, and choosing colors for the crayola posse.
So we hope BA and Kade can check in and just give us a general update on their own health.
Was the trainer's website posted? I never saw it.

holy cow :eek::eek::eek:

I read the first couple pages of this when it was fresh, got bored and didn't check in again. Several options for nicely telling this loon to go away were offered. My response would have been to tell her to go suck a lemon and since everyone else was being so diplomatic with their advice I felt it was mean spirited and didn't offer it.
Might have resulted in a letter written in lemon juice

I see the post count on this and decided it has gone haywire so I have to look, but I never never would have guessed.:eek::confused::confused:

This is great entertainment, but also a scarey crazy person.

Such a coinkydental world, yes?

Love, love, love Demeter fragrances & was browsing to see what new scrumptious concoction I simply *must* have...

And what to my wondering eyes should appear? (stay with me here).

http://www.perpetualkid.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2359

Yeah.
I laughed.

If you're not familiar with Demeter, these fragrances are 90% spot on amazingly true to the scent of the title object. (FYI: do *not* wear the "Gin & Tonic" lotion to the office).

They have yet to release a "Warm Horse Breath on a Cold Morning" scent...Though I noticed they've added "Sawdust".

Cheers,

ToT. I'm with you--nor would I want to smell like vinyl car seats (another newer one I notced). But I suppose it's got great memory associations for somebody out there (shrug).

:)

Ah, but "Dirt" is one of the all time classics. No joke!! Mmmmnnn. It smells like...well, it's like...errr. Okay. Like when your garden bed is already tilled up nice and loamy. And it's sun-warmed, releasing that clean (yeah yeah..I know), rich toasty aroma. And it lingers on your hands and knees all afternoon. And each time it wafts up across your nose, you feel warm and alive all over again as though you were still outside turning over soil and breathing in garden air.

Besides, should someone wind up with the CTL for SS this year (hey, it could happen), what could be more fitting a gift than this one?

I ran across the crayon fragrance in a store around here not so long ago. I expected it to be really gross smelling but it wasnt. I mean I wouldnt wear it but maybe a teacher or someone who works with kids would. The lady at the store said they sell a fair amount of it (my guess would be mostly as gag gifts but who really knows).

And just so we are staying on the up and up...

I wonder how BA's arena is coming. What type of footing do you think she will use? And I wonder how her new horses in training are coming?

Erin says we must stick to the colors in the box of 64, and for some dumb reason, your color and my WBs choices are not included. Crayola is missing out on big volume sales for those of us coloring horses as opposed to coloring with guys.
So I picked burnt sienna, kinda looks like manure (not on grass) so you may share with me if you wish, or pick a yellow shade on page 13 closest to whiz.

Bummer crayola doesn't use horsey colors. There are so many options!

Like gray-green pony (manure stains...)
Mahogany Bay
Oakbark, Newmarket (heck they'd have all the shades of brown covered if they used tack colors!)
Chrome (aka white:yes:)
Grulla (that would be like the mystery color in the box.)
George Morris Rust (after those infamous breeches!)
Liverpool Blue

WOW! After reading this entire thread, I have spent 1 hr 15 minutes of time I should have been doing work... would have been faster had the computer been working faster...but nevermind that! It was entertainment!

I always wanted to know what the whole crayola posse thing was about, and now after reading about BA's ordeal, I am deathly afraid to send my horse out to a trainer, especially considering the majority of trainers in this area focus on the natural horsemanship thing...I find some use for ground manners training with natural horsemanship, but little else...

anywho... I would love to join in on the crayola posse bus..or trailer... though with as many supports as BA has now, it might take more than one bus or trailer... I wish I knew where this all was going on because there is a similar trainer that has made a rather bad reputation for themselves in the small town that I lived in for a few years...beginning to wonder if it might be the same town...:(

In Northern VA, and I consider it exactly what it is a location, not my home town...

The town I was talking about with the crazy trainer is not in VA, but I know of one in the NoVa area, and after much much thinking and contemplating pros and cons and reviews from past clients, Im glad I did not send my horse to her...I am still in the market for a trainer though, and I too have started my horse and she is saddle broke, the whole WTC thing is questionable....havent spent much time working on that lately with my whole 911 barn move situation...

Wish BA would disclose a location...I would get a hoot out of it if it was the same town...

...yea 3 hours away is a little far for me to be separated from my girl... I'm not sure which of us has greater separation anxiety from each other...we're probably both crazy...:D

And I was an AirForce brat growing up so I've seen everything, even been overseas.... I can understand not missing the traffic... but personally I think I could stand to go without the culture. I'm from the south...and I mean the DEEP south...Born in Texas, raised in Alabama and Mississippi 30 miles from the nearest gas station and grocery story, never wore shoes unless going to town or church, and lived to be outside every day...now that doesnt make me uncivilized but the NoVa atmosphere is SOOOO stuffy! and for those wondering.. I am not a "redneck" and I see no problem with anyone being one haha...

Anyways...getting back on the topic... did I miss any updates from BA since the whole post about lawyer, police,& charges:confused:...my computer started acting up....

That must be a sight:lol: Some Wisconsin boarders at same barn I was at in 2001 came back with cheesehats from the holidays up there, but didn't mention the, um, coordinated underwear? So y'all clean barns in it? no wonder they didn't tell us about it.
Well, now if someone will find appropriate ariat boots in cheese or crayon to wear with the crayola outfits and cheesey hats and underwear, we will be all set.
And we do need to hear from Blind Alter or her horse Kade. I mean, with BA's husband laughing his rump off, they might be at the hospital emergency room with a rumpectomy slated.

Did anyone notice that a few pages back, someone posted with a (paraphrased)"*insert first name*, hope everything's ok, how's kade, let me know what's up" etc. It sounded to me like she knows BA. I don't want to a)attack the poor poster with a thousand PMed questions, or b)try to get all of our curiosity satisfied, but get BA in trouble since we know too much. BUT, if it's a simple Hey, you know BA, how is she? kind of thing, think we could ask her what's going on?

I'll go check it out and see if I can find the exact post.

Sorry to hear about your training ordeal, but I give you so much praise for listening to your horse and for finding a trainer that followed principles that were in his (and your daughter's) best interest. Good on ya!

She's probably going through legal stuff with CCTL. Maybe some sort of protective order? And probably has been told not to "poke" at CCTL by discussing her on the 'net. That's my logical guess anyway.

Blind Alter, perhaps if you just post something like:

wow that is a gorgeous sub. Love it Horseloverz!!!
But now KookiCat has survived the Wicked Witch and the demon spawn, and has escaped from the Mad Hatter and the tea party and cheese party, and has gone home, and she and her horses will live happily everyafter, unless she gets into a dispute with her trainer cause her horse lost weight, and so we don't have to go to England, but the Yellow Sub is so nice, that we might have to use it to tool around the intracoastal waterway in it.
Now if Blind Alter's case will end on the same note of "living happily everafter".

yes you may have shrimp. We live on a salt water river (Vernon) altho we buy from the shrimp boats at Coffee Bluff. And we have gotten over "The War of Jenkin's Ear" and no longer fear the Floridians.

Yes, my foal needs a blue carseat! Someone pick a lovely Crayola shade for him please!
Also, the mental image of crayon colored dog poop kind of reminded me of an activity we did in kindergarten once. Take a sheet of wax paper, place different colors of crayola shavings in pattern of your choice, cover with another sheet of wax paper, and iron gently. Voila! Crayon art! Suitable for Mom's fridge. And very similar to Crayola doggie poop splatter...:p

Oh rats, I saw in the newspaper where "Bush send One Billion Dollars in Aid to Georgia" and i thought we were getting $1B to help against any invasion.

Turns out it is the "other Georgia" , rats.

It's fall and Blind Alter must have finished her ring/arena now.

Kookicat is safe and

Erin is back from her honeymoon,

and we are all being threatened by 3 hurricanes.

We need soe good horse news, like the return of Supernatural, but more good news.

SHeesh... I saw this float to the top again and thought BA had finally come back with some news.

So no that I'm here... I'll add something HORSE related.

Maybe CCTL should give up live horses and try this

Well, with no sugar, no calories, no caffeine, and no carbs... It HAS to be plain ole water!

So, I'm not the only one lurking around to hear if there is any kind of update. Well, it certainly was entertaining when we got updates, but the update filler, so to speak, is almost as much fun.

Are we the crayoa posse or brigade. I really want to be a posse. If we are a posse will we have a sheriff? Will we be deputized? And most importantly, can we wear shiny badges on our crayola costumes?

I'll take peach please.

(I have never laughed so hard while reading a post and I'm only up to page 21. There goes another productive day at work.)

HuntJumpSC

Most definitely a "posse", and who shall we elect as our sheriff? Anyone have any nominations? I think those who are "deputized" should have to wear "Devo hats" with their crayola colored outfits~ that would be quite sharp!
For those who don't know what a Devo hat is:

Edited to add: Can "Whip It" be our official theme song???

It's oddly ... appropriate. Given all the talk of coloring. I guess it would fall under the category of solo coloring. :o

Now supposedly it's not really about that. But I think they're just retconning the whole thing.

You Guys are really going to get me into trouble! I was at a meeting last night and the speaker kept talking about getting "the right people on the bus." Also mentioned getting them "in the right seats" a few times. It was killing me not to ask her what color crayon she was.

I can't believe I've never read this thread. I was wondering what the crayola posse was all this time. I hope there's an update soon, COME BACK BA COME BACK! This is such a great thread. CTL is beyond psycho, I've run across some similar people in my life before and reading this post I could totally see where it was going and it didn't disappoint. I love hearing about crazy people and not being the one who they are going psycho on. I feel so bad for ba having to deal with this idiot's drama, but I'm glad she shared it with us. it may help us to see the signs in people before the train wreck happens so we can get out of dodge. No one deserves to be in the path of crazy people like ctl.

I think so too:( I wish that just one of us knew who she really was (on COTH at least), and either update us, or PM her other COTH account and find out what's up.

Part of me thinks we should let it go; towards the end it sounded like this thread was really getting her in trouble. But jeez, just a "hey, Kade's doing well" would be nice.

The Convoy song was listed as being by "C. W. McCall", but that was a made-up name. Bill Fries was the songwriter and "singer", and the music was by Chip Davis, who went on to lead Mannheim Steamroller to big success.

When I'm listening to Mannheim Steamroller at Christmastime, it's funny to think of the connection to Convoy. :)

Don't lose heart, altho BA might have forgotten us when her gate was repaired and the crayola trainer left her alone, someone somewhere will need our help.

And thanks for all the work done by Erin and Horseloverz, and oh rats, who was it that updated all the colors while Erin was on the other side of the pond coloring on her honeymoon? Oops sorry ESG, it was ESG who filled in with the update while Erin was gone coloring.

Please keep the thread open and maybe someone will need the crayola posse to come to his/her rescue.
