I know I asked this before but cannot find my post... ugh.

Also down today because my very nice Emillion mare may have a back injury.. she jumped out of her pasture awhile ago and then got scared and jumped back in.. when she jumped back in she fell on her face on the other side - ground was wet and muddy...

So I may be breeding her instead of riding her.. waiting on a Vets opinion but in the meantime looking around at stallions - really the only thing she needs is a little more bravery..she can be very reactive and emotional.

So what stallions out there throw bravery??

TIA!

I think frozen Iroko is in the US.

I think any stallion who has shown at the highest level of the sport should be on your list.

The only test for bravery is competition.

All horses are a combination of brave and timid. Great jumpers are brave enough to go over the jump in the ring but too timid to touch the rails. Great event horses are brave enough to gallop in the open and brave enough to take a knock on a solid obstacle from time to time without becoming too timid to go at all. What kind of bravery are you looking for?

Indoctro for sure. They will jump anything. When you see the young ones at the young jumping competitions, they just go for it all. Corlands are also proven easy for the jump. My young Tenerife foals love to jump anything from the day they are born.

Navarone also throws brave jumpers. Often can't keep them in the pen. He himself was very handy jumping and quick.

Don't you think a little bit of hitting rails is limitation of ability and/or laziness? A horse that wants to work for you and please you will do well when praised for a good jump. Or they could be numb to the pain of hitting rails and that is not good either for any of the training. I wouldn't want any timid anything in a horse for jumping. But, I guess it can be what the rider likes.

Indoctro offspring have a reputation of being brave and straight forward to the jumps. This is the first year of showing for our Indoctro stallion, and he has been brave, brave, brave and totally unflappable. My daughter had him in a 1.10 m jr/am jumper class on the weekend. It was very windy day - flags snapping, all the decorative floral arrangements moving wildly - and he never so much as blinked at anything, even went through the triple combination like he had done it before, which he had not. Similarly, my daughter test rode a young Indoctro mare the other day and even though the mare was green she never hesitated at any of the jumps.

I find Corlands to be a bit more careful than brave, and as a result are not always an amateur ride, although they are usually immensely talented.

Navarone is lovely - we have a 4-year-old filly by him and she is popping around the 2'6" hunter schooling ring like she has done it all her life. Her dam was a tb off the track and a nervous wreck, but our filly is the most sensible, laid-back horse we own.

Would Indoctro be a good cross for Emilion x Corland x Athlet Z? I am thinking yes.. that may be the way I go.

I am thinking about using Navarone for my TB mare - if I ever get her home.. but a couple others I like for the TB mare are: Cascani, Cabardino and Chaleon.. having a hard time making up my mind there.

But for Lilly Indoctro may be the way to go..

Here is the link to Lilly's pedigree: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/waterlelie

Just on a side note she is very rectangular mare with big gaits and is very tall 17 hands.

I like Indoctro for the Emilion mare. The C line has gone very well with Emilion and you could have quite the nice jumping pedigree.

Navarone has crossed very well with the TB mares. He puts on a nice strong hind end and topline, good neckset, pretty head and of course that great character. We are getting a lot of people who bred to him when he came here using him again as the offspring are just so nice to work with and athletic for anyone to ride.

Hey Kathy,

Would you use Indoctro on a maiden mare?? Is he semen quality good enough?

Thanks!

I'm not Kathy, but I'm probably using Indoctro on a maiden next year. Last year I used it on a 17 year old mare, flushed an embryo first try and then bred her again to Indoctro to carry her own. I got two healthy foals on the ground this spring; so needless to say the semen is very good!

What registries are you willing to work with?

I know some jumper riders that say they love a spooky horse, because they won't touch a pole.

Are you looking for boldness, or less reactive, and more easy going? Nevada youngsters are very willing & careful, but easier going, more suitable for Amateur riders.

I think Lilly falls into the spooky wont touch a rail -but that is a hard ride - what I am looking for is no spook but brave and will just go to the fence without all the drama..

Make sense?

I am willing to work with most any of the WB registries..
