These are photos that I took at Devon. A few of them were taken by Gina Dinovi of Brickyard Farm so I can't take all the credit. :D
Thanks to Gina for letting me use her snazzy new fancy camera!!!!
(The pictures were still uploading when I posted this--when they are done uploading there will be around 250 pictures).

Thanks Ladybug!!
Sabre that is GREAT!!! It was great meeting you.
Here is a pic of my yearling (Oak Hill) in the non-tb colts and geldings class. I was very proud of him!!! (after he had a VERY busy night) Funny story to tell you. He decided to excavate his stall the night before his class...well, he dug a BIG hole. Well I guess he decided at some time in the morning to lay down and his butt fell into his hole that he dug and could not get out! The braider happened to walk by his stall and did not see a horse in there, and looked to see what happened to him, and found him in a hole cast against the wall under his water buckets! Well after several attempts to retrieve him from his hole with no success, the braider called Laurie and Junior around 4am, and finally they were able to get him up out of his hole! He did not have one mark on him at all, and seemed to be sensible through the entire process and was very happy he was finally rescued!! (That would have been a priceless picture!)

HunterRider-great photo. Your colt is the one that I thought should have won his class. I noticed there was a discussion between the 2 judges as they made the second line. Obviously the discussion was about your colt and the one that won! Congratulations on the second place, but I think you were definately jipped.
Clearround- also a great photo. I really liked your colt as well, and thought he could have pinned better. Congratulations.

SilverBalls- I did like Westhampton- very classy. In my opinion I just don't think the colt that won deserved to be at the top. I thought there were many VERY nice ones standing behind him. I felt the same way about the 2 year old non TB colt division. Many people in the stands felt the same way when the classes were pinned.

Honestly, I think they are all knock your sox off gorgeous and each one deserved the blue. I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder, but my eyes tell me that I would be thrilled to have any one of them in my barn.
SB, I really like to see the baby's fresh, in a good way, and your pally just needs a beautiful blond child with braids and pink bows. Gorgeous.
What an amazing feat to have just gotten there and in that ring. My hat is off to all of you.
Cheers

Rheinland- Thanks, I wondered why you were not at Boumi Temple, but I saw your filly. The 2 year olds was a large class. Congratulations on the win with your filly!!
I agree with Happy Mouth, that we are very fortunate to have had our babies behave so nicely in the ring. (Look at what happened in the broodmare class!) We all have nice babies, and it is just someone's opinion, that's horse showing for you.
I guess we will see what happens at Upperville.

llsc- I saw Bubba under saddle- he was in my section (B). My boy was a tad fresh at the canter and wanted to play a bit with that many in the ring! But I can't complain....he is only 3!! There were some nice horses in the YHUS. I am thrilled that mine walked right into the Dixon Oval and marched around without looking at anything and got a ribbon. There is so much to look at in that ring for a youngster. I thought the majority of them did real well.

Thanks HR! I couldn't have been more pleased! I only wish I had been there to see it. My works fiscal year ends in May and I was having my end of the year work party I couldn't get out of it. It is so hard not being at the shows, I worry too much and am too impatient about finding out what is going on. I am not a good back seat Mom!
I cannot wait for Upperville! It is going to be so much fun watching all of the beautiful babies!

Hunter Rider,
Your boy is really lovely. Yes, they were in the same section, so I got a good chance to look over yours and everyone else's lovely horses. The horse that won our section was amazing.
I was under the impression from the prize list that they were showing in the Gold Ring. The Dixon Oval was a whole nother ball of wax for the youngins. My guy is 5 but he wasn't broke until last August and hadn't been anywhere, ever, before I bought him. The whole horse show thing was quite a shock to him. He was really good, but nervous over the change in scenery and balled up a bit instead of relaxing and moving out. He also had a wrong lead for about a second. OOPS! It was a great experience for him though and I was pleased to still be in the ring for the model. After Devon our local shows will seem like a piece of cake to him.

llsc- They always say the most quiet horse will wake up at Devon since there is SO much to look at, especially with the ferris wheel and fair going on. Mine still looks like a "baby", he still has some filling out to do, and it was his first outing since Kentucky back in September! I thought for the most part they all handled it very well. I look forward to going back next year when he is a 4 year old.

Pictures and credit and editing
Anyone can use the pictures as they like--no permissions needed. No need to do photo credits either--it just really doesn't matter to me. Some of the pictures would look better with a bit of rotation one way or another or cropping etc. Just let me know and I can do that for you!

Honestly since it was the first show that I have been to this year, I just didn't realize who a lot of the horses were. I was just so mind boggled trying to take pictures and talking with some of my horse show buddies that I only see a few times a year. Also was working on 4 hours of sleep and no food or drink all morinng taking the pics. I was supposed to be getting some client's pictures for webpages, but still missed some of them. If I wasn't in a good spot or the horse was not posing well I didn't get them. I am not really sure how pro photographers do this! LOL
Maybe I need a list of horses going to Upperville?
