View Full Version : What to do with your FEI horses when you are stiff and sore!

I weedwacked for 7.5 hours yesterday and was feeling a bit on the stiff side when it came to riding today...so I searched my soul and decided to get in touch with my polo groom roots! (well, I did it for a few summers in college)

Look what my FEI horses can do!

Atreo is my riding mount and metronome, Tasker aka Smart is the fatty in the middle and Artiesian is on the far side of Tasker. They have always been good about ponying but I am eternally grateful that they remember this from several years ago...I don't think there is a better way to get 3 exercised in less than an hour! :D

*Please excuse my mismatched attire & their ropes...it is home and no one keeps score on that stuff*

ha ha a girl after me own heart -- cheats way but if it works then so what haha
i have done it with more than two, haha

when we change paddock in the summer as i have another paddock of 4 acres behind the pub in the village we have to move all ten, cant be bothered to wlak up and down the road
so we do it all in one go ha ha
and sometimes ie when debs was having mixs i had to do it all on my own
haha but then it depends also on how well behaved your horses are and obediant they are

love the photos

when i'm stiff and sore i stretch alot before riding and may just do 'gait development' or a hack. but sometimes when stiff and sore a really good active ride is great for getting loosened up.

Wow! That is awesome! You certainly have good ponies. :) My youngster is the only horse I have now so no more ponying for a while for me. He's a bit too green to be the quiet, easily managed pony-from horse.

all right!
But really, you should have one leg on each of the bay ones with the fatty in the middle :)

Thanks guys... :) So would the quadrille need another chestnut? Or a grey? I have a chestnut 4 year old who is learning to pony but not reliable enough to join this group yet. He will have to soon enough, though as there are days that the mini-crisis takes over the schedule and they need to get some exercise in a short amount of time. These boys are a good group as they get turned out together and Tray is the boss, so they know to keep up with him. Add in a little scolding about lagging or charging on and it is actually a bit of fun!

gls - I used to ride 1 and pony 4 on each side, so this is easy compared to that! :D (provided Tasker doesn't slam on the brakes and Artie doesn't nip Tasker)

equibrit - it was bad enough that I got a massage the next day...long overdue but much appreciated!
