Ok, if you are standing next to the paddock facing the saddling stalls, I will be towards the left side. Ladies, feel free to seek me out, I can get you into the racing office to use the bathroom in there. NO lines!

^^ Can I have your cell#?
I called my "contact" last week to make sure that he knows I'm going, so he doesn't give away or sell my ticket. Right now I'm trying to figure out the best way to get myself and company there without getting stuck in the parking nightmare; forget hiring a car service, because it's usually bad on Stakes day anyway, where there's always a line of town cars backed up, I can't even imagine what it'll be like this year.

Ok so Jane's post got me thinking... is there a train or subway that goes to Belmont? Or are we stuck driving in? I've driven past the track before, on the way to the vet's... but obviously it wasn't on race day :lol:
What's the best method of transportation that day?

The Long Island Railroad goes to Belmont.

LIRR is very easy. It stops right at Belmont's grandstand.
I'd love to meet some COTHers.

Thank you for the tip on the LIRR!!
I think it would be awesome to meet up with some COTHers while we're there!
I don't know the track at all, so if someone else tells me where to be, I'll show up :D

Maybe we should pick a meeting spot and time just to say hello the day of?

That sounds good to me!
Just name the spot and time, and the bf and I will be there :)

I'm not that familiar with Belmont either, as I've only been there a couple of times... so maybe someone who knows the track better can pick the easiest spot to meet up?

I spent virtually all my time pressed up against tha rail of the paddock where they head towards the tunnel. I am on the left hand side if you are facing away from the track and facing towards the saddling stalls. Thats because the racing office is on that side with the aforementioned bathrooms!

I don't know about a sign but I can let you know what I plan to wear once we get close enough to have a reasonable idea of what the weather will be. We can't go in there in packs like its a night club though, I have to remain remotely professional!

:lol::lol: I was just kidding! I do hope we get to say hello, though!
To be honest, last time we went, I didn't have any trouble with the bathroom lines. We went for general admission, but paid I think $5 more per ticket when we got there for some sort of additional access. With that, we had access to the indoor area, too, which had no lines at the ladies' room. Maybe I just got lucky!

It makes a huge difference if its a triple crown year or not. We didn't have any problems last year but Smarty's year was a beast. Or you got lucky!

We were away last year, so 2006 was the last time I was there. I'm guessing I just got lucky. ;) Er, or I was someplace I wasn't supposed to be!

And can someone clue me in as to what the attire will be? Sundresses for the ladies and khakis for the men?

Depends on where you're sitting. if you're in the box or club house, probably a bit more "dressy"; grand stand seats I'd just want something comfortable, especially if you're going to be there for the entire day. Also keep in mind that they're forecasting thunderstorms on saturday.

Ok so it's TOMORROW! :D
I'll be in a dark pink sundress - long blond hair, and the (very tall...6'5") bf will be in a grey suit. We've got tix in section 2P, but will be wandering around also.
Where is everyone else gonna be??

I stand next to the paddock rail on the way to the tunnel. I like to be on the left side if you are facing the saddling area with your back to the track. I am wearing a black tank top and white skirt with pink and red flowers on it. I also will have my newly acquired white purse so I have somewhere to stash the camera when I am not using it between races. Wow I sound so ladylike! I imagine there will be manure on the bottom of the shoes, you can't completely take the barn out of me.
Hope to see some of you tomorrow.
