Any one know anything about this guy?
Are his offspring sound, atheletic, good movers?
I'm thinking eventing, obviously.

Not much of a sample, so I can't give you generalizations about all his foals, but I had one once. Nice looking, relatively big colt that I quickly turned in to a gelding. Bowed his tendon, gave him almost a year off then he bowed it again. I donated him to a horse rescue where he was adopted as a local childrens hunter.

All I know is that he was campaigned by MC Hammer. It was always a riot when he and his posse would show up an sit in the box seat section at Belmont.

Didn't MC Hammer invest like $10 million in racehorses and only win a couple of races? I think I saw something on E True Hollywood Story that said he lost all his money on racehorses

Somethinaboutlaura is his best racing offspring, and she is quite a racemare in CA. I'm a big fan; she is gutsy and has had a nice long successful stakes racing career. He is now standing in New Zealand after an otherwise unimpressive sire stint in CA.
I have a Dance Floor filly who is BIG, big boned, and beautiful - but has crappy, crappy feet. I have no idea where that comes from. She's out of a Vigors mare.

hmmm.
Not the best response, then, huh? Well, it is interesting to know that MC Hammer once owned the stallion, but if that is his great accomplishment, I think I'll pass on the offspring...

That is your choice obviously, but I certainly wouldn't pass on one of his get as an event horse due to his lack of success as a race horse sire. That makes no sense whatsoever. The horse needs to be evaluated on his own merit.

Dance Floor ran well in the Kentucky Derby (I think he was 3rd?). MC Hammer also had a filly named Lite Light who was a good racehorse. She was a multiple Grade 1 winner.
Vicarage Vee -- I agree that Dance Floor's lack of success of a sire (and the fact that he was owned by MC Hammer) shouldn't be a turn-off. Since you want the horse to be an eventer, it shouldn't matter who his sire is.

LOL. Yeah, I agree with this sentiment, but it's still something that all eventers should be reminded every now and again ;)
I've got a *** horse out of the most mundane parents you've ever seen!

We had a Dance Floor filly a few years ago. She was a dainty little thing - ewe-necked and very delicately built. She had ankle problems and never raced.
Dance Floor himself sold for just over $6,000 a few years ago at Barrets to New Zealand interests.
