Brain surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday 5/7 - drop off my stallion at 8am, pick up my gelding at 2:30pm.

I am nervous and excited at the same time. Last weekend I was already scouting the local junior riders for him. I just sent entries in for Chagrin and have to make some phone calls to find a rider for there! I have, in the barn, a young adult who can do him in the AA's, but no kids ready for 3'6", nor can they hanle his jump at 3'.

When are you headed to Chagrin? I've never taken the drive up there but I've always wanted to..I'd love to head up there and meet the studless man :winkgrin:

I wish I knew someone who was a 3'6er but alas most of the people I hang out with are weenies - we stick to the 3' or less ;)

Good luck finding him a rider! I'm sure it won't be too hard!! Oh, and good luck with the surgery-I'll be jingling all goes well next week :)

Chagrin isn't until 7/14-20, but the stalls sell out, so I had to send in stall fees early.

I have a young adult in the barn who will do him in the AA's at some of the shows this summer, but she has a budget as she is going to grad school in the fall. Besides, he needs to be promoted as a 3'6" horse, so I need to fing a junior for that.

State College and August Saugerties are also on the list for needing to find a junior catch-ride.

Not sure what July will bring but if I find I have some time free or feel like taking time away maybe I'll take the drive up. I'm in Pgh so it's not that far really.

I feel the same way, Sabra. He is a gorgeous, talented, and well-bred horse - and we need TB sporthorse stallions like him.
But I do understand your position.

2 1/2 days left of hormones and today was a classic example of why I don't want to own a stallion anymore. Across the street from my farm are fields that have been turned into a recreation area. On weekends, they have soccer and baseball games over there, and practices during the week. I had a local show this weekend, and was pulling out the driveway to go get load #2 to bring home (Yak's paddock is out front). As I got to the end of my drive, I saw a small child and her father on the road side of my property in front of his paddock. I have warning signs and the paddock is triple hotwired with 4 rail fencing - the cjild and father appeared to be going back across the highway, but as I pulled out, they turned around and I could see the child picking grass...

I immediately called my barn manager because it was too late to turn back and had her go chase them off. What part of the sign "Beware, Horse BITES!" didn't they get??? He doesn't really BITE, but he is currently a breeding stallion and can be nippy. Little fingers do look like carrots, don't they???:cool:
