Besides our usual nonrideables we have a lot of horses looking for good homes. Rideable, useable horses. Some requiring more experienced riders and some good for beginners or husbands.
9 yr old Black Arab Gelding
9 yr old Walker mare
2 Draft crosses
1 horse used for driving (unknown breed)
Older bomb proof mare
13 yr. old TB H/J (home pending)
8 yr old AppxQH mare, (experienced rider)
Please consider homing the homeless if you are looking. All our horses come with a guarantee. We guarantee that if you dont like the horse, it can come back. We cant possibly know everything about these horses and they change according to the situations they are put in, we rely upon there owners to tell us the truth...............but certainly everyone of these guys is nice to deal with, has no major issues and has probably only touched upon its potential. In the right homes, these guys bloom.

The first five horses listed on here are all or were residents of a kids church camp. There is no interest in operating it any longer and so the horses were given up. All are apparently well broke, they are all kind. I met the horses, just have not found a way to move all five at one time. The drafts are app. 16.1 16.2 although they are heavy so look larger.
I need to move them quickly so will post pics the second I have a way to move them. Fernie, the horses are in Griffin so not far from you now I dont think.
The horses are available for the usual tax deductible donation. We will get them farriered, coggins and shots up to date. We cant do that for free either so, your donation covers only that expense. So yes, I guess they are free.

Nevermind, she emailed to say she talked to you earlier today.

Hey there, my email is sunkissedacres@charter.net. Not sure why the web wont change that thingy on the front page. New website is done and almost running.
Sidepasser is delivering all the horses on Saturday. They will be available immediately after that so keep in touch.
I hope I have responded to all that enquired but please, because I get many many phone calls and emails, you must call or write me back so I remember who you are. Coth names and real names dont add up on the phone.
Thanks so much for the interest. These guys deserve a chance and I absolutely cant afford another horse.

The trailer leaves the farm at 8:00 am and arrives at 9:30 am on Saturday at the horse's barn near Griffin.
I will be meeting with the person who has the horses to load and go to Sunkissed Acres. I am willing to stop enroute with Lori's approval, if someone has qualified to adopt to save someone a trip and gas.
Adoptors would have to work with Lori; I cannot speak for her. I would need an address for delivery no LATER than Friday at 6:00 pm, confirmed by Lori, so I can plan my trip in the most economical manner possible.
I am willing to work with whomever lives between Griffin and Summerville or Summerville and LaGrange/or even over into Alabama 50 miles if that assures these horses can be rehomed, for no fee. Sorry I can't haul to Nebraska or Wyoming..lol..but am willing to be the drop off service for anyone who wants to adopt along the route. I will be coming up 75 North, and will return home via Highway 27 South. So anywhere reasonable along the way is acceptable.
You can't beat free transport these days..so anyone looking, this is likely to be about the best deal ever. Sorry I don't have pics, I'm taking my guy sight unseen - what I gets is what I gots..lol. I'm sure he will work out just fine.
Anyway hook up with Lori, make arrangements and then Lori can pm me the address for dropoff.
Thanks all,
Sidepasser - horse transporter extraordinaire.

Now Lori...quit tempting me... after Ginny I have the 1 spot open for that TB I spoke with you about (the other university mare)...and I am FULL (Repeating to self I am FULL.... Ok folks - I'm going to be leaving out at around 8 this morning with the trailer..I did not hear from anyone who wanted to adopt one of these horses, but if you think you would like one and are having a hard time deciding..
Get in touch with Lori asap!! and she has my cell phone number and can call and give me the information.
Lori is OVERRUN with non adoptables at Sunkissed Acres and these horses are rideable, which is what everyone wants these days..no known health issues, I do believe they are due for a trim, but that's just a drop in the gas tank if you had to haul one. The owner stated that all were in good health..so you won't be getting a lame, broke down horse.
I have no way to post once I leave the house here, so all contact will need to go through Lori..I will call her once I have them loaded (all load well I was told), and tell her the situation with the horses (height, health, general attitude)..but today is the load and go day so if you are on the fence teetering, a little information might be enough to tip you towards adopting.
Best I can do short of riding them, and I won't have time to do that since it is a long ways to Lori's from where they are located and I have to pick up one when I get there and make the trip back. All told about 8.5 hours of driving.
Anyway off to load the trailer and hit the road!

Any pics of the draft crosses? Are they mares or geldings, ages? GA is kinda far for me but it might be doable - I'm sure they will find homes quick all of them. I used to live in Columbus, GA and would go back in a heartbeat.

I dont have any pics yet, the kids arent here but are enroute. Get homes quick??????? not one yet except the one for sidepasser I am afraid. Hopefully someone is coming to look at them today.
These guys were used in a kids camp guys. The camp is not opening this year so in essence, they are abandoned on the pasture. Nice horses, sound and rideable. All between 8-12. Please, take a chance on one. A few weeks of work to get them back into riding shape and you could have a real gem on your hooves.

Well they are here. the walker is nice, a gelding, large and red. The draft x is in fact a morgan by the looks of it. Nice horse. The other draft x is a paso fino or a quarab. Really cute with trust issues or should I say catching issues. I walked right up to him but I saw Liz struggling for a long time with him.
Sadly, these guys are really choice to handle, I am in LOFF but. cant wait to post the pics. These guys were farriered in years nor fed. I have seen lots of long feet but nothing like this. MY farrier came immediately, we trimmed. Ok, we have a long way to go but, he said thank heaven, they were sound. Good feet that can be righted.
And now, I am off to deworm these kids. they are not much too look at right now, they have been fending for themsevles for a time but............they sure are affectionate.

Well I made it home through the t-storms and lightning (eeks) and all is well here. A note on the horses. Although none had been loaded in quite some time, all jumped right on the trailer and rode very quietly. They were not handled in awhile and have been out on a large pasture, but came up when the gate was opened to the barn. They led quietly and hopped on the trailer. The older mare is such a sweetie, she was first on the trailer, stood and waited for the others. One by one, they went quietly on.
The horse I am taking wouldn't fit anywhere except maybe the hood and I didn't think a live hood ornament would be safe. He's jet black and needs his hooves trimmed, but isn't skinny. I have to pick him up tomorrow as I was too tired to even think about going back to get him today.
Glad I could help and hope they all get adopted soon.

Cindy, you went above and beyond the call of duty. You are truly a Godsend and anyone notice, Sidepasser always jumps in for the needed mass ride. Bless you.
These guys are really really sweet. I cant believe it. Even the Paso let me catch him again last night without much fan fare. He is kind and obedient, just not used to this mussing.
All of them dewormed well. hahahha been so long since they have been fed, I wasnt sure they would eat beetpulp and alf cubes soaked. They sure didnt come for a feed pan but curiosity got the better of them. They gobbled it up. they have fended for themselves on pasture for a long time so switching them carefully to even any hay. I have an orchard grass timothy mix I am feeding them.
I am in loff and someone is getting good horses. Given a bit of time, these guys are going to be great. I watched the old mare eating last night and decided she is not as old as she looks. Her teeth are great Cindy. Just wormy as all getout. Early 20's.
Cindy, I cant thank you enough for what you did. Its going to be a while before I recuperate from this shock. Matter of fact, from this day forward, no horses will enter here without dated pics before hand.
There are still horses here that need a home guys. Someone, the Paso is gorgeous and he will be a great one.

well hubby says we can get to gettysburg easily enough if they can get to there. i'm happy to foster a couple and hubby may well be interested in the red twh for himself. i'm only concerned with fostering-having had no luck placing the very sweet and laidback qh yearling it looks like we'll end up keeping him. i'm more than happy to be a loving and safe stop on the way to a new home for as long as it takes,,as long as it's not too permanent!!
i've got a four pony or three horse stock type trailer and can be in gettysburg next week if you want to take me up on it.

Carolinadreamin's lady friends came and picked up the black QH cross. He was kind and gentle and I know he is going to be absolutely adored. The whole barn was phoning, balloons and a sign await his arrival. He is doting on the attention from here and now he is going to have a ton of kids to love him to death. He so deserved it.
The paso fino is gorgeous. I just dont understand how anyone let him go like that. His feet are trimmed, his blood taken, wormed etc etc. He actually let us groom him today and he basked in it. He will come around quickly. He is gorgeous guys.
The TW is large and kind. Really gentle. He settled right in with the herd, a gentleman. His feet are also done. Please be looking for Sidepassers pics. These guys had the longest feet i had ever seen. Farrier came IMMEDIATELY and those guys stood perfectly to get the eight inches off. They walk a lot better LOL.
I am not sure yet of the old mares age, some indications aged, others only about 20. Doesnt drop a spec of grain, eats long hay well, pasture etc. etc. She has the longest stride I have ever seen. She has a home here until we know a bit more about her. She is supposed to be a great kids horse and can be a kids horse for someone who will love her gently.
The TW mare and son got a home. Thankyou Cothers. A few more to go and we are set. Home the homeless, they wont dissappoint you.

Hi y'all,
Got some pics of Midnight (I am going to rename him when I see what his personality is like), and forgive the awful photos but this was done on Sunday right after I got him home and he wasn't really in the picture taking mood.

He's getting real curious about me, so I did get a halter on him, and got some brushing done this morning. He's cautious and scared because of lack of handling, but he is coming around. He learned about carrots this morning, and doesn't care for dumor cookies - spit it right out on the stall floor and looked at me "hey you, you tryin to poison me". lol
Farrier is coming Thursday afternoon and he will get those hooves trimmed and will probably take two or three trims to get them back the way they are supposed to be, but that's fine. He's in good weight though in pasture shape, and doesn't bite, kick, or crib in the stall. No weaving but lots of calling out - guess he misses his buddies at Lori's.
Got to think of a name for him though..just can't call him Midnight, which is what the guy was calling him, when he wasn't calling him Blackie..sigh..
Curious George might be a good name - lol...

Thanks everyone, I like him alot, he's getting calmer but is still a little hard to catch. I'll just let him decide that I'm better for him that the running at large in the pasture was..lol.
Can't wait for the weather to warm up some and get him out to see how he likes baths. He really is nasty and needs a good makeover session. Still no aggressive behavior at all, not pushy or nasty tempered so that is good. Walks on a lead like air..hardly know he on the other end. But gets scared easily and will duck behind me like he's hiding.
Nice boy, I got the name of an arab trainer in Macon and will be going over there for the Region 12 show next week (just to watch) so will try to contact her and see what she thinks she can do with the boy.
It's all about making them into useful citizens so they have a chance to show what they are capable of.

Well, since sidepasser has posted pics of her new boy, please meet a former member of his herd.
Introducing Blackberry, with a doubt the sweetest horse I've ever met. Once he sees you, even if he's in the back of his paddock, he'll come up to greet you and waits like a gentlemen for you to come in. Please note that we took this picture before the grooming sessions began!

Isnt it so nice that these two boys got homes. My own friend and riding instructor took home the little old lady. Well, not as old as we thought or she looked but, aged all the same. Poor girl though, she cant walk quite right after her pedicure. Midnight looks like he has long feet but nothing came close to either Blackberry or the Paso. I am calling him Eli.If the old girl doesnt come to rights, she will have a home here at the farm.
But now Eli, he is waiting for someone special. He is like Midnight. Wont do a thing wrong but he is tense and worried. Loves to be rubbed, has discovered bowls contain food and cookies. I can walk up to him now and he does love to be patted and told how handsome he is. When I walk away, he follows me.
So now, if Eli gets a home, that will take care of the lot. A special home, someone who knows the breed. Smart, quick, and they never forget. Eli is by far the best looking Paso I have seen in a long time.

Well, it appears that my mystery boy is coming on the hitch hiking train in about two weeks. I don't know with whom or the date yet. I know all will work out. I know Lori is overbooked, and I wanted a gaited horse I can ride sooner vs later. My baby is still cooking...he is only a year old. My mustang't trot will kill me someday. I almost need a gaited horse with my joints.
I would rather rescue one and save a life than breed for one. My best horses have been my rescues in one way or another. 2 BLM mustangs and one starving TB mare. I did buy a baby last year. I guess I deserve it. He is awesome.
I get to visit Eli on Saturday. I can't wait. I have been told he is handsome. This is cruel making me wait....LOL. It will be fun. I just have to drive all of the way across the state. Joys...I am excited as all get out. Wish me luck.
