I already told, when I posted the GrandPrix rides : That I dont have time to edit or change the video which was broadcasted live on the internet.
OK And I had to wait for 3 hours to split the video in 2 parts, because VEOH could only handle a filesize of <600 MB, and another 6 hours to upload it.
Again sorry that you had to wait 14 minutes:confused:

Is the GP still posted? Last time I tried to download it it said that the video was no longer available. Just curious, I know you are busy...

BTW, anyone familiar with this software? I got part 2 to play, but not part 1, and now I can get neither to play. It's just "loading"... forever...

J-Lu...when this happens to me, I clean out my temp files cache..Not sure that is the answer, but I do that whenever I have a problem with videos, LOL.
If Internet Explorer, right click, go to properties, and ask it to delete temp internet files.
As for the rides...wow.
I thought all the horses looked in super shape, and all the ones Ive seen before seem to have worked hard to add whatever was missing-- more topline, more elasticity, more power, more fitness.
That said...I dont think I have ever seen Imke Bartels-Schellekens ride better than she is now riding. Ive seen the mare produce more exciting tests than this, but not with this overall quality.
Helgstrand on Casmir. That is one of the most amazing horses, I think, out there right now. Up there with Mistral Hojris for pure talent. But it does not fill me with joy to watch the performance, rather it makes me fear for the horse's health.
Max still swings in the changes, but Kyra looks better and younger than she has in years! And the horse was nearly as light-footed as Sunrise! really cool! I think the one-handed pirouettes are 4better than the 2-handed doubles, LOL. And is Kyra holding her reins a la Schultheis? How cool of her.
Warum Nicht --well, watching Isabell always makes me smile. Practically defines elastic athleticism, watching that huge horse coil up for passage, let it out for pure extensions, so supple in his body! Amazing!
Salinero-I think this is one of the best tests ive seen him do. I think the music allows Anky to keep pushing forward, to the next note, the next beat, and provides the kind of focus, the 'inner music' we are supposed to hear whenever we ride...what a tour de force.
And as for Sal, I think he is better in his body, has some schwung to go with the power.
thank you Theo, in every language in which I can say that. <g>

Thank you Theo! I'm glad you posted the links, because when I tried to search them on earlier on VEOH, I couldn't find them.
I have to admit, I found one thing consistently annoying, and I think it did affect a number of rides (IMHO). Am I the only one to notice that whoever was controlling the music, consistently started the music before the riders indicated they were ready? While I realize that there may be some room to be flexible and compensate, many of the riders were consistently a little "behind" in their movements to the music. At this level, it's my understanding that the music is edited to the choerography and while it may seem a very "little" thing, having ridden FTM's myself, I know it definitely can affect your ride...especially the entrance.
Having spent so much, time, effort and money to get to the World Cup Finals, the least show management could do is wait for the rider to signal for their music. All were well within their time limits from when the judge at C rang the bell. It may seem like a little thing, but it's something that does take away somewhat from their performance.
Overall....some very, very nice movements and rides. Thanks again Theo!

I understood from the judges that Courtney and Idocus was scored down in a part of her test because Ido had his mouth wide open. My wife always give me a higher score when I do this ;)
@ mtngirl
When the music is out of sync it is a problem of your own computer or internet connection.

Interesting comments and ones I agree with. I just got home last night and have a camera full of home made videos to watch. :):):):):) I will have to review the videos the pros did too.
My only question is what is up with Andreas? He appears very lack luster, he has lost weight, let his hair go 'natural (okay, a personal choice, but he looked very *cute* blonde), and he is wearing two coats a size too large; and his face is drawn and frankly "sad". Coming out of the ring he has a face of complete rejection___ I have photos of him. So, what is up? He is certainly not the same young man I saw in Aachen with Matine.
As for Anky and Sal? It was by far the best of any ride I have seen her do. I've been to the last four World Cups and this was her best so far. Her other horse, Painted Black, is uneven, I wondered if he is struggling with *something*.
Kyra? She was super, and better than her Vegas rides by far. The horse looked looser, and freer than before; too bad his piaffe is irregular and stilted. He just does not have a good piaffe given by God, it looks "produced".
The venue: Brabant, is excellent. I'd sure like to see the USA have a venue like this. :) Does anyone know what they are planning in Kentucky in 2010? New arena, or is there one already there for dressage? Just curious.

Canyonaok gave the answer in one very true sentence:

I was bumming all weekend because my link to the live feed froze too much to watch the rides. Interested to see Warum nicht after an earlier comment. Saw him in LV last year and while I thought he was lovely, he didn't seem to be a horse who was totally through his neck - kind of a lovely body that stopped above the shoulders.
I do wonder if the horses are in better shape because of not enduring a long trip. Has to be easier on them.
Thanks again Theo.

They all look so different on the tape than "live" The difference between the best and other riders are blurred; good ones don't look as good and others look better than "live" - strange - music comes out differently as well. Wish I can watch it "live" again!

I agree, I think that is the best I've seen from Salinero and Anky. And I love their music, dramatic, moody and very grand. Interesting how much that horse uses himself behind in the trot work in the presentation ceremony. Of course I know horses are always more flamboyant in victory laps than in tests, but it does prove the horse's back end is not shut down as some detractors of Anky's training seem to suggest as a result of rollkur. I think with this big fella its more a case of her having to ride the tests conservatively so that Sal doesn't get away from her rather than her training shutting down the horse. I saw Salinero in a clinic and his extended trot was huge, the rear end really engaged and stepping under himself.
How lovely is Warum Nitch? The most supple, all round horse I've ever seen I think.
And Ollright, the highest poll in the competition. Hmm, interesting. I really like that combo too.
Andreas does seem to have some passage machines under him lately, but Casmir clearly not ready for GP yet.

Thank you, Canyonoak, I'll give that a whirl.
You know who really grew on me? Afrikka. Despite his uneven passage, he looks pleasant and trainable and easy. Operative word: looks. You don't get the feeling of power, but you get the feeling of pleasant. Amateur pleasant. I think they should let me ride him.:D

Afrikka is 17 years old, so what do you mean with trainable ?

Huh, I didn't realize he was 17. By trainable (and by my comments), watching him go he looks very submissive. Trainable meaning he *looks* like he is focused on the rider and obliging to aids - like he is easy to teach things to and eager to work for the rider. Like I said, I don't know this horse at all but he looks like if he was in class where the top 10 riders had to switch horses and ride a GP test, whomever got assigned to him would not have a very difficult time executing the test. Just an impression.

Got the second part to work today. I am still amazed at how lovely Isabell's transitions on Warum Nicht are. They seem so effortless. Can't say the same for Anky who appeared to be hauling A$$ the whole ride, hoah baby hoah. LOL. Think my fondness for WN's big floppy ears adds to my bias. Amazing elasticity in that guy.
Interesting to watch Casmir. Is it a fault for the horse's hind feet to cross over in piafe? He's sooo close behind. Do hope he stays sound.
thanks again Theo!

This is not a fault but as you said it may end in serious soundness problems like Sonja Gademann had with Olympic Jup, who had the same problem, allthough he didn't become injured, he started to be scared of doing the piaffe.
