Escudo II (Espri/Arkansas/Woermann) http://www.rainbowequus.com/escudo.html
Is Escudo II the "new" stallion? Or has he been here for a while? A few years ago we were interested in Earl http://www.eurodressage.com/news/breeding/hannover/2003/earl.html ( by Escudo I) ... but haven't followed these guys much lately.

Honestly I have no idea. Saw his name and some info under news on the homepage. I really have no idea if he is a gelding stallion or mare lol just throwing out a random guess.

hadn't even noticed that... his/her one and only post... hmmm? So, let's just make random guesses... is it bigger than a bread box? Is it Brentano I, Escudo I, Espri, Don Fredrico, Weltmeyer, Longchamp, His Highness... Fabriano? or, getting really wild here... Tinka's Boy??

I had hopes at one time that he would get Feinerstern. If it is not him, I would guess the stallion has the ability to jump.

Obvously, the OP was so excited they had to post-must be a very handsome boy! Hope the news breaks soon as I am sure the talent must match the looks if Mr Edgar has him!

On another thread this morning Edgar said:
"Well, I bought another proven, super typey stallion with Grand Prix offspring in jumping and dressage who arrived over the weekend, he will be on our website soon and to keep with this thread, his fee is pretty low right now...."
So apparently we're just going to be TORTURED for awhile still!!

I thought that was news about a Landkonig son, not a new stallion. I could be wrong, of course.

I think the message about Lantinus is because he is a son of Landkoenig not because he is the next stallion to be on the lineup-could be wrong.
And I don't think Spruce Meadow bought Le Primeur-lots of confusion on that one, they did buy and imported Lougheed, so I doupt very much they would have bought father and son.

Mistyjewell, Lantinus is a gelding son of Lankoning - while a fantastic showjumper, he is not of much use to us breeders! :)

Mar. 10, 2008, 02:04 PM
Yeah, Lantinus is a gelding. Not only that, but he is only 10 y/o - not old enough to have offspring competing at GP dressage and jumping. ;)

Spruce Meadows DID import both Laugheed and Le Primeur but are not standing Le Primeur to outside mares. At least that is what they told me a month or so ago.

Hurray for Edgar and Landfriese II.
Jolly good, Edgar! I really liked this boy when we tried him for a dressage client in Germany, and I kept thinking he might be a very good stallion for North America. I was tickled when I heard he had been imported! What a great addition to your line-up!

Landfriese II has been in NA I thought - just with a different owner.
Congratualtions !! I thought medicine was really something if a gelding was now a stallion :D

Sorry Rebecca,
Thanks,
The OP actually rode Landfriese II here the day after he arrived and was excited enough to post something and although she does not normally post here she has been lurking a while. This all happened quick as his prior owner and wife encountered health problems prompting a move to Arizona from Seattle which did not make it wise to keep a stallion and broodmares for them.
I thank Dan for his trust in us and wish them the best! We are thrilled with this new stallion who caries refining blood from the best producing TB stallions in sporthorse breeding namely LadykillerXX 2x, MarcioXX and Vollkorn XX. Along with some good Holsteiner blood and a hint of Pablo's Dam line.
Offering refinement and rideability as a proven producer of Jumpers, Dressage, hunters and eventers which seems like a stretch but the proof is his offspring out there doing it.

Matrox/Matrose/MarcioXX is Pablo's Dam
Manstein/Matrose/MarcioXX is Landfriese ' s Dam
Very good type and ridability came from that line.

I have a SPA/EM with Matrose as her damsire. Here is the information I found out relative to Matrose while researching her damline.
Matrose, by the thoroughbred Marcio xx, sired 9 approved stallions and 10 Olympic dressage contenders. Matrose excelled in dressage and his offspring were noted for their rideability. During his era, he was ranked 3rd among his age group as a sire of dressage horses. The offspring also displayed good jumping ability. Matrose sired the stallion Matrox, who is the damsire of the elite Westfalen stallion Pablo. Marcio xx (1947) sired 8 state stallions and produced good dressage horses. His get have won over 330,000 DM.
