Looking for a hunter stallion to compliment a Dutch mare by Best of Luck who showed very successfully on the West coast doing hunters. Had a Paparrazo foal who was very nice, but thought that maybe we could be a bit more "huntery". Only real conf fault is that her neck could use a BIT more length but it is well set on and utilized. Stallion should be GOV approved so that we do not have to do multiple inspections.
Thinking Cabardino, Agincourt or Sir Caletto...............thoughts???

Apiro http://www.silvercreeksporthorses.com/apiro.html "my favorite :)"
Cabardino http://www.charlotfarm.com/pour%20gagne.htm "my 2nd choice"

A picture of your mare would help

Pablo has been showing up on the USEF leading hunter sires list for the last couple of years. He is a bit more elegant than his son Paparazzo, and puts a gorgeous neck on his offspring.
I am using Apiro on one of my mares this year. He is very much a hunter type and has been doing really well in the hunter ring.

I have a TB mare who I am also trying to improve the length of neck on (it's not short, just could use a bit more, but well set). She is going to DaCaprio & I cannot wait for that foal. A friend has an outstanding DaCaprio gelding who jumps fabulously and has not been worse than second in the hack. I have also heard of a few other DaCaprio babies doing well in the hunter ring.
I also really like the Pablo suggestion.

Dumont throws very pretty babies with very correct conformation, nice necks, and lots of white. Every offspring of his that I've ever seen has been nicer than him.

Westporte is not approved GOV. He's OLD NA & the Canadian registries.

Do you think Apiro would add neck length? I may be alone in this, but sometimes the stallion crest appears to 'shorten' the neck by adding width, which is why I ask. Wouldn't have to worry about jump though ;)
Just wanted to add that I have not seen him in person, only in pictures. I think in person it is quite obvious...(and I'm sure no one else has this issue with pictures, but for some reason my eyes like to play tricks).

Yes, the crest does shorten the appearance of his neck as does his very large shoulder. His neck fits him, but is what I would consider to be moderate in length. Silver Lining does have a longer neck that is a little more horizontally set.

Thanks showjumper ;) You have quite lovely stallions - I'll be looking for Apiro at Devon!

You guys are making this seriously hard. Those stallions are like "horse porn" per my husband! LOL. I'm glad others think that Cabardino and Apiro are so nice also. Any votes for Agincourt?

What about Ironman -- is he approved GOV? He was leading hunter stallion in 2007 for one of the registries.
