Anyone have or know of any offspring by De Laurentis? Looking at a 2 year old for a hunter prospect.

Yes, I have a 3yr.old by DeLaurentis.:D
He has a great mind, temperament and is very eager to learn. He stands about 17 hands and is a lovely mover.
Oh did I forget to mention, he has almost perfect conformation???;)

We have an '07 DeLaurentis colt and he is the sweetest horse we have ever bred/raised, not to mention he is very correct, modern, has a beautiful head/topline, great engine, and is a very elastic mover (pm me if you want to see photos).
He is very logical about new things and loves to be around people. He was very easy to teach to lead, tie, bathe, clip, stand for farrier, trailer, blanket, etc. He enjoys pleasing people and is extremely laid-back.
Let us know how it goes with the prospect you're looking at and do you have photos?

My friend has a DeLaurentis baby that she loves! He is gorgeous, big & black, I think that her horse will mature into a top notch hunter as well, he is a coming 2 year old. He did very well at the FEH trials this past year too.

From the AHS stallion book: Licensed in 2002, performance tested in 2002 at Neustadt-Dosse. Overall 92.90/28/43; Riding: 108.69/15; Jumping: 81.21/36
I have seen some really nice DeLaurentis that have very good gaits.

I have a coming 2 year old by Delaurentis. He was top colt at his inspection, but he is going to be tall and is fairly downhill at the moment. Even so, he shows nice suspension and rhythm. More importantly for me, he has an absolutely fantastic temperament. We took him to breed shows last year and he behaved like a gentleman, even the judge at Devon remarked on his manners. He's very people oriented and sweet, and he learns quickly.
He sired a colt that I think is one of the more lovely babies I've ever seen, an Oldenburg De Morani. Think his video is on YouTube.

I have an 07 Filly by him that I adore! Sweet as pie, willing (and even though looks like a yak right now) WONDERFULLY put-together! She was reserve champion at her Hanoverian inspection out of some REAAAAAAALLLLLLY nice foals!
You can see her in my signature!
I agree De Morani is going to be something VERY VERY special!
I believe he has thrown hunters.......anyone comment on this?? Having mental brain fart on names right now............:)

I'm curious if the Caprimond neck comes through on his babies. Seems like it.

We have a De laurentis colt here at the farm we are raising for a client. He is turning 2 yrs old and his temperament has been wonderful. He did go thru the Yak stage last year as a yearling but he appears to be coming out of it now and looking pretty good. He must be as everyone who visits the farm..always asks "whose that chestnut over there" pointing to him.

I have an '06 filly by De Laurentis that I'm really happy with. She has, without a doubt, the best mind and temperament of any young horse I've ever known- my trainer jokes that I got a golden retriever instead of a filly. Right now she's a bit yak-like, but she still has lovely movement.
I'd love to see pictures of older De Laurentis offspring from those of you with the 3 year olds.

Olivia is lovely. How did you get a redhead from those two parents?

It was quite a surprise ! Not only is she a redhead, but she's getting more and more of a flaxen mane and tail as she gets older. I was really hoping she'd be black like both parents, but with all her white and now flaxen mane and tail I think she's pretty eye-catching.
This picture is from December- you can see how much of a blonde she's becoming-

Hi,
What's the caprimond neck? I've seen pix of caprimond under saddle and it seemed like a typical stallion neck, thick at the crest.
My delaurentis is perhaps a bit thick in the throatlatch, it's a pretty good length, and I think it will be a nice shape, but not necessarily remarkable. I just loaded heaps of pictures on to google, you can see him at:

He's coming two now.

What's the caprimond neck?
Caprimond is known for producing really beautiful and refined heads and necks.
I actually think Rosenthal has and produces more of what I think of as a Caprimond head and neck. His damsire, Karon, is Caprimond's sire.

My friend owns DeMorani and I can vouch for the fact that that colt is very special. She also has a superb filly by DeLaurentis out of her international GP mare; the filly was champion at her (large and competitive) AHS inspection last year.

Does he have any kind of show record? Now that USDF charges a fee to search, I have to ask here.

I don't think he was ever shown. The HP video has footage of him at his stallion test. There is some trot footage, but annoyingly, it's in slow motion. He looks long in the back, but my yearling riley is actually pretty short coupled in comparison. they say the spine is the last thing to grow, so we'll see.

His dam is a full sister to the dam of Dacaprio.
So, pedigree geeks, what do you see in the 1/4 of the pedigree that is different between these two boys?

I have a premium/stallion prospect colt out of a Feiner Stern mare. I think he is stunning. And he also is a super sweet colt. Not sure if I would consider him a Hunter mover thou. I also have a Rosenthal colt he is a sweetheart as well. Smart, and a lovely hunter type mover.
