Hello,
So, tell me your breeding choices this year.
I'm so excited, haven't got to breed for 3 years and I have all this built up baby madness! I was only going to breed one mare, then just 2 and now just found the perfect match for the third. Here is my list...it has been tough to choose, so many nice stallions!!! Some where tied and then it came down to blood lines. :) SO, I'm excited to annouce:
Freckles (Midnight Miracle) Black/bay 16.2 hand 4 year old mare. Art Deco X Santa Sliegh (Irish) is getting bred to Fortune Hunter (First Class X Andiamo) Her first foal. :)
Kielha (Kalender Girl), Fortune Hunter X Khemosaudi 16.2 hand 5 year old mare Black/Bay Her first foal, she is getting bred to Rosenthal.
Presley (Eternity), Fiener Stern X First Class, 16.3 hand chestnut mare, coming 7 year old, is getting bred to De Lux (De Niro / Andiamo).
I'm so excited to finally have a Rubinstien line and a Donnerhall line AND of course a Fortune Hunter baby.
So, as I'm dreaming of the foal's faces, tell me about your little ones. :)
Presley is now undecided, but looking at Rasta. Delux is only frozen.

the odds in my favor??!! :-)

I dunno. I am only allowed to breed one per Mr. Hubby.
Mare I will use is a TB jumper mare. Not sure if I will go with a TB or not. There is a lovely local TB stud who would be a great cross. But, not sure. Still pondering a WB too. I have frozen WB semen but mare is older and has a cyst so I don't want to use frozen on her...LC TB or fresh cooled WB!

I'm breeding the following:
Princess Queenie (Phantom/Polydor) back to Indoctro for another ET.
Then breeding her again to Contendro to carry her own foal.
Apache Peak (Galoubet/Mowgli) to Special Memories
So maybe just 3 babies for me next year, if all goes well.
But I do have acquiring a 4th mare in the works, but don't want to jinx it by talking about it!

Hmmm, well I promised the SO (that's significant other, not stallion owner:lol:) that I wouldn't breed any back this year. HOWEVER, I sold one of my 3 broodmares, so maybe I can sneak in one breeding and that will keep the head count the same and he'll never know. Now, I have to find a stallion that will quarantee a black foal, that will replace the black mare that's sold but is still being boarded here ;)

Still Raining (aka Skye) (Idocus-Leibjager-Mr. Quality xx) to Apiro
Ulottie (Goodtimes-Calvados-Ramiro) to ??????????
I am currently researching choices for her, I am having a hard time making a decision.

To add on to not again's post...
Lily (Again & Again/Sir George Gaylord/Royal Warrior) _definitely_ goes back to Dressage Royal!
Emmy (A&A/Ocala Breeze/Brunetto) x DR or Waldaire
Amelia (A&A/Aly North/Bold Lad) x Wyatt or Waldaire
Sabrina (South American Way/Abundance/Viking Spirit) x DR or Weltmeyer
Savannah (SAW/Abunadance/Viking Spirit) x DR or Weltmeyer
Leigh (SAW/Abundance/Rocky Knight) x Waldaire
Gretta (Wallstreet Kid/Flaming Rock/Sunny North) x Wyatt or Waldaire
Imke (Idocus/Dahlwitz/Wendekreis) x Adamant or Waldaire
Deb (Dahlwitz/Wendekreis/Wiesenbaum) x Again & Again or ?????
Gee, does it look like I am struggling to find a match for some of the girls?  We have DR, Weltmeyer, Wyatt, Again & Again, Adamant, Avebury & Waldaire semen on hand, I'm just not sure who will go to whom! Deb & Savannah will be the only ones who will not have had Waldaire foal's, but Deb's daughter will have one in April! So that foal will give us an idea of what is possible with those genetics...:sigh: Lily, Emmy & Savannah are carrying DR foals, Imke, Sabrina & Leigh have Wallys on board :sigh: perhaps the foals will make the decisions for us when they arrive????
We do have a three & four year old that could join the mommy list if we want to have lots of foals for 09...but I think I would rather show a bit with the big guns!

Hmmmmm.....
I still haven't decided for Joy (Jupiter). She is having a Westporte baby next month, so I need to get on that!
If I still have my See Me Com'En mare she will be bred to Apiro.
Dutch Vivacious to Don Alfredo
And Escorte de Mance - possibly to a Rio Grande son.
*all subject to change except the DA.
TC - I really like Zarr for FF. :)

This is going to be an exciting year for me. I'm foaling out two babies that are of other stallions than Cisco and one is by a rare Spanish LP project (spanish appaloosa) stallion out of an Col. Spanish snowflake mare of mine. We are trying to bring back the "old time" appy color in the Spanish Mustangs....it has nearly been lost to us...in other words the original type appaloosa. Then to make it even neater, I have the opportunity to breed her to a different LP stallion this year and might get two breeding options to him for a second mare. To make it even nicer, he's a lovely mover and a very typey horse as well so he's perfect for my breeding goals. Cisco (my stallion Cayuse Gold) will be bred to at least two mares but now I have a number of his babies here and I don't want to overuse him. He has a number of outside breedings this year also. I also found an extremely nice Col. Spanish bay sabino stallion in our area called Wayward Wind...an lovely mover and even nicer jumper with a lot of local show miles and an extraordinary temperament...and I'm hoping to breed at least one mare to him. Last my Corolla Banker stallion will probably be bred to at least one mare here for an HOA registerable foal...what we call an "east/west" cross of Col.Spanish strains which has produced some excellent vigor in the offspring. So 2009's foal crop should be quite a variety and hopefully some LP foals.

SPS Pakesa (Prince Thatch xx - Duerkheim) to Sandro Hit (depends if I get a filly this year, then I may try something different)
EM Day Dream (Don Bosco - Furinos) to Rascalino or Benidetto or another stallion I have my eye on. Really depends on what I think of her Rascalino foal this year.
SPS Destiny (Desert Moon - Wesley) to Londonderry
Weltkin (Weltmeyer - Hitchcock) to For Compliment or Fuerst Grandious
(some in US, some in Germany, all Hanoverian)

WHEW SOUNDS LIKE SOME YUMMY (in an eye candy way) foals!! :)
MAYBE next year I will try frozen semen, just not super found of trying in on maiden mares and the vet. I trust to do it is so far away!
I had Dressage Royal in mind, maybe next year. I just love love love--did I say LOVE that combination of Rubinstien/Donnerhall! (As you can tell from my choices of boys--although it is a Rubinstien stallion son and a Donnerhall grandson.)
So exciting.
Lord Bless our mares and little foals to be born, keep them safe and healthy! AMEN!
Had to scream that out for all of us! For those that don't believe that way
JINGLES and POSTIVE thoughts for all our mares and to be foals!

I have my TB mare Marcy's Hope in foal to Triple Twist (TB) in hopes for my next eventer. She's due in Sept.
I may try my My King mare one more time.....To Triple Twist for my dream foal. Haven't decided on that one yet since she lost the last one at 7 months.
Good luck to everyone! Sounds like some really nice little ones coming!

DH wants me to cut back a little this season till we reduce the headcount. I do want to try freezing semen this season and will have to test it on at least one mare though. The stats can look good but if on thawing the swimmers don't do their job... you have nothing.
So I may allow a friend or two to test it too. This assumes he is a candidate for frozen--I'll find out next month probably. I think i will breed one of mares, Betalka or Takoma, to my Maestoso Samira XXI. Altamira to the deceased Neapolitano Amiata. (I have access to frozen from this deceased Italian Lipizzan that I must try. I think I will trade for that letting the other SO test mine if she wants.)

Breeders dilemma, I have a Sir Sinclair (Zeoliet/Roemer) 3 yr old filly that I just sent off to be started. She started out looking like a Hunter, but is now becoming more up hill with nice long legs and great hock action, She has the best mind imaginable. She is actually looking spectacular! I was planning to sell her, but now I think that she would be a great cross with the Jazz that I have in my tank! I also could have the reverse cross with my "Top Ten" Jazz (Roemer/) 4 yrold. What you the rest of you do with your young mares? I think that I would at least like keep them that extra year to get a foal. I can never decide--Sell or breed.

Hi Joshua's Mom - I just sold my 3-year old Sir Sinclair filly but am talking to the new owner about breeding her this year.:-) I think Jazz would be a dynamite choice as long as you don't mind tall and taller (I know you don't).
You have to breed your Jazz filly to Florencio and then let me have the foal. :-) I sold my Jazz/Florencio to a great home but know that I will miss her once she's old enough to breed. :-)
Will see you in Florida!!

Natalina (imported Trakehner) to Concerto Grosso or possibly A Fine Romance, or even Quinar. I like her 2007 CG colt, he is spectacular, and she is bred back. I never argue with success but it might be interesting to know what another cross produces.
Ukiah (AHHA) by Concerto Grosso is in foal to Cicera's Icewater and we will find out how that foal turns out, if it's what we are hoping for, we'll repeat the breeding!
Winnie's Tash xx could be bred to either of our boys, we'll have to see how her foal looks first, it is her first baby, she is bred to Concerto Grosso right now --- or she could go to (for example) Campesino. She's a nice type, but we'll have to see what she produces first.
For Vicenza (AHHA, Acord III - Lord Capitol) we are thinking Cassini II.
Our Holsteiner Stamm fillies Windsong (730 b by Roller Coaster) and Quinar - Corofino I filly (from the Lord Stamm) are not old enough to be mothers yet.

Only breding 3 mares this year, plus one for my uncle
I think I have decided on two:
Dee Dee G (tobiano SHB by Dueka) to Weltmeyer
Desert Storm (bay advanced eventer SHB by Landino) to Jaguar Mail
That just leaves the two Trakehner mares Cover Girl (Karo As x Guter Stern) for me and Holme Park Venezia (HG Solomon x Consul) for my uncle. I might go back to Axis for Cover Girl, but want to decide after I come back from Germany next month.

Feiner Stern x Borneo will go to Quaterback http://yancey-farms.com/horse.htm for ET. In a perfect world, she can keep the front legs straight, and pass on her lovely neck/head, and he can pass on his freak movement, and hindend.
She is a super mover in her own right, but his canter is unreal.
She may also have a Contendro (ET again) for a hunter foal. She has the height and the look, he has the jump, and in many other ways they are similar.
Or Lordanos, http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/MatchmakerEquine/Lordanos.html, I am not yet decided on that. I feel that IF there is really any way to breed for hunters, this cross could be quite special. He really has a textbook perfect jump, and throws it, along with a pre-potency for chrome.
Sherlock Holmes x Bold Indian XX http://www.germanhorseconnection.com/main.php/en/details/00621 may go Contendro http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/MatchmakerEquine/Contendro.html if she isnt leased. (or back to Lordanos- she gave a chromey colt by him 3.5 years ago that the owner is so excited about as an open hunter prospect, and with movement to win a hack).
She has been leased out for 4 years now, and is in foal to Donnersohn http://www.saxonyfarm.com/donnersohn.htm for 2008.
Gepard x Adlerorden may go back to Bratt Z (ET) http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/MatchmakerEquine/Brattz.html, since she gave such a fantastic filly by him in 2007. She gave me 2 embryos by Landor S http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/MatchmakerEquine/LandorS.html last year, and since she will be 23 this year, she may be closing the shop, dont know.
Freedom Z mare will probably be a recip for one of these ladies, or stay as my riding horse.
The good thing about the ETs is, if I feel it isnt time to actually bring the embryos to term, they can wait in the freezer!

I got the semen from my vet who has crossed with him in the past and had some left over. I've heard it's hard to come by now. So glad my vet was willing to sell me what he had left!!!
The mare is my Grand Prix dressage mare (which is why I want to do this -- don't want to take her off the career path because I have a lot to learn and I need her!). She is from older lines (Spitzweg-Welfin/Welsh City). If I could get one just like her...talent, looks, temperament/work ethic...I'd be incredibly happy.
But we'll see, as I said to the vet, "I could be throwing a lot of money down the drain." And he said, "Or you could end up with a really nice baby." I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the later!

I am having so much fun w/ my coming 5 year old Landkonig I should really repeat that cross. But his dam is going to go to Counterclaim for a horse for my mom. And I am breeding my other mare to Formula One for a baby for me. We haven't bred in a couple of years and are just breeding for ourselves. We've got a bunch of repeats and some new crosses too...
Rainfall (Premium mare by Rainbow) back to Palladio
Touch a Star xx (by Consigliere) back to Palladio
April Sound -JC "Ruthie Dear"- (Reg Hunter Champion by Cruisin Prince) back to Palladio
Frequency (by Fabriano) back to Palladio
And then the new ones:
Pink Cadillac CF (by Palladio o/o Touch a Star)-currently in foal to Apiro and I think I will take the plunge, say my prayers and use my Gonzo I frozen on her.
Glace Noire (Premium mare by Gonzo I out of our foundation TB Aunt Lois)-Currently in foal to Palladio and CAN'T WAIT to see that one....but I think I am again going to pray like mad and use my Zeus semen on her...yes...that's right...Zeus semen...I'm going to be very in touch with religion this year with all the praying that will be happening in our barn!!
Lastly, I've got a fabulous mare (Palladio x Westmann mare) named Palazzo Civena CF coming back from a lease this year. I'm still trying to decide what to do on that one. She's athletic as they come, incredible jump, amazing swing from the shoulder and no knee so hard to decide what dicipline I should shoot for on the foal....

I am breeding the first filly from my menopausal adventure(breeding Irish Draughts)...started in 2000 with an imported Irish Draught filly...the daughter TigerLily (KEC Double Diamond out of my Fast Silver daughter) is coming three and will go to Hangon Johnny. Her dam The Silver Lily(Fast Silver out of a Merrymate daughter) is looking at a possible embryo transfer to Hangon Johnny for a repeat of their 2006 colt who is the best of both...hoping for a stallion quality colt AND a filly. Johnny is 20 now and had no opportunities to have purebred mares for most of his life so this is a true preservation effort. http://www.blackshireequestrian.com/HangonJohnny.html

Of course my plan was to breed only 2 mares this spring...but it's so difficult to leave good mares open. Tentatively I'll try some new breedings from unproven youngsters, which I normally don't do.
SPS Cassandra (Contender/Wanderer) to Canstakko (Canturo/Stakkato)
EM Fair Lily (First Gotthard/Pik Solo) to Avagon (Acorado II/Escudo I/Calypso II) This youngster scored 140 for dressage and 131 for jumping in the 11 month test last October.
Gemstone (Grand Cru/Final Pool xx) to Stalypso (Stakkato/Calypso II)
EM Francesca (Wanderer/Pik Solo) to Graf Top I
Rosijn (Ferro) to Agincourt
If I re-lease the Voltaire mare, she will be bred to Agincourt also.
Usually I don't talk about my youngsters, but I just received a video on my 2 yr old colt by For Edition out of Cassandra. Wow, he's developing well, very modern and can jump. Now comes the difficult decision on how to proceed with his future.

Having taken the second Big Step last year (inspection and breeding approval of our young stallion - the first Big Step was buying him as a weanling!), this coming spring we will breed our two remaining mares to him for his "test crop".
So many people seem to jump the gun and breed these colts as two year olds to see what they will do, but we preferred to let him grow up both physically and mentally before getting him all involved with girls :)
Mares are both TB, one is a *Paranoide daughter (fastest horse in the world on dirt and turf when he was running) out of a Transworld daughter - superior athlete producing mare, and has well earned her barn name of Pet. Second mare is a Souvenir Copy daughter (Mr Prospector/Nuryev) out of a Val d'Lorne/Topsider mare, great lines for jumpers, turf and hurdles horses all the way back. Both mares are proven producers of real quality, so they are the best sort to prove a young stallion with.
No babies for us this spring - had rotten breeders luck last year, ran out of money! LOL, the vets got it all when our baby filly was injured and then got sick. The one mare we did breed to Westglen Farm's In Shining Armor RID is awaiting the results with her new owner - it should be another spectacular foal for this wonderful young Irish stallion, can hardly wait to see it.
Best of breeding luck to everybody, the foals are the best part of it.

With three new exciting hunter fellows added to our roster so recently, it's been fun choosing the pairings for the coming season. Obviously, we're still on the fence (sorry...) about some of them.
Silver Queen, Trakehner by Schonfeld
will go to Harvest Moon ( www.baystarfarms.ca/harvest_moon.htm ), Thoroughbred by Absolut. An International Hunter Futurity Champion, as well as a Devon winner, and his fantastic offspring have followed in his footsteps. We're so eager to have some fabulous Canadian "Harvey" babies on the ground and showing on the line in 2009!
Landmark, Trakehner by Carino
will go to Outrageous Fortune ( www.baystarfarms.ca/outrageousfortune.htm ), CSHA stallion by Hennessey (Trakehner, also sire to Zarr). This lovely lad will be fulfilling his performance requirement as an eventer in 2008, and then will be preparing for the hunter ring in earnest. His previous offspring are gorgeous, so we're looking forward to having some of Ray's striking, athletic get of our very own!
My Kickin' Cass, Thoroughbred by US Flag
will go to Benlea Merrylad ( www.baystarfarms.ca/BenleaMerrylad.htm ) 12.1h Section B Welsh, by Benlea Rambler. Such a proven little gent with incredible bloodlines, what a treat! His foals are just the most accomplished, adorable little creatures - for once I'm glad I'm still the right size for a pony!
Ally Cat, Dutch Warmblood by Alla'Czar will go to Harvest Moon, or will be available for breeding lease/custom foal.
Tu Eres Mi Amor, Thoroughbred by Tu Eres Mi Heroe, and sporting an impressive performance record from California will go to Harvest Moon or will be available for breeding lease/custom foal.
Flip A Coin, Thoroughbred by Ramparts will go to Outrageous Fortune, Benlea Merrylad, or will be available for breeding lease/custom foal.
If anyone would like to see photos of our girls, please visit www.baystarfarms.ca/baystarhunterbroodmares.htm
Best of luck to everyone in 2008, I love this time of year!

After the insanity of having 5 foals this year (Lord willing since they are all still due to come!), I am only breeding 3 mares this year for 2009.
Tanzania (Avignon/Ricardo) will go to Impressionist
Sweet Chloe (Carino/T'bred) will go to Kovington
Pennant's Valentine (Pennant/T'bred) will go to Oskar
All are approved Trakehner mares, going to approved Trakehner stallions. :D

Fun!! :)
Our large, homozygous black/chrome laden hunter mare will be going to Cielo B. And our dressage type event bred mare will be going to Mannhattan. It's going to be hard for me to sell either of those, so I'm really hoping for two colts. We are keeping this years test breeding by my stallion, and hopefully have the APHA foal sold.

Well, for us, that's pretty easy.... If we still have our two lessees (Leah and Zelda), they'll both go back to Salute The Truth. G.G. will go back to Salute The Truth - in fact, we're thinking we might do an embryo transfer with her and get TWO Willy-babies from her for 2009. Willy's dam, Good Queen Liz, will be bred to Bruce Davidson's new stallion, Lion of Kells. So, if all goes well, we'll have 5 foals for 2009.
Edited to add:
Leah is a daughter of Cozy's Commander (sire of John William's Olympic Eventer, Carrick) and so that foal will be for eventing
Zelda is an Oldenburg by Davignport - foal will be destined either for Dressage or Eventing
GG is a Thoroughbred - foals will be destined for the Olympics in Eventing ;)
Good Queen Liz is a Thoroughbred, dam of Salute The Truth - foal will be for Eventing.

Interesting - but it would make even more interesting reading if the type of mare and type of stallion was mantioned with the hoped for result of the match, ie. hunter, jumper, dressage, or why you chose a certain stallion.

yikes, Julia, I'm impressed! That is quite a lineup!
You too, Poneez - you will be busy! ;)
I will plan to breed just 2 (or 3) ;) mares this year.
Oohlala (Holsteiner by Cabaret) will go to A Fine Romance
Jeweller's Mark (pinto TB X CSHA by Hallmark) will go to A Fine Romance for a repeat. She has had 3 lovely foals, the oldest just 4, and is in foal again for this spring. She is a wonderful mare, easy to breed, a great mom, but I am actually thinking of selling her.
I am pondering rebreeding Macassa (TB) to A Fine Romance. I have had some wonderful foals from this match (including an Advanced eventer and GP Jumper), but she is a terrible mom. Nerve wracking. ET is definitely an option.
and I have Cricket aka Devon Girl, aged 19. A full sister to AFR, and a beautiful mare, and lovely producer in her own right. I have not bred her for a couple of years....... and maybe this might be her last year.
see, already the number is up to 4...... and I keep telling myself I am cutting back. ;)

yikes, Julia, I'm impressed! That is quite a lineup!
...tell me about it I'm just a little terrified at the prospect!! Trouble is I got offered some more fabulous mares this year that I just could not turn down. Bridget Parker (ex Chairman of Selectors for the British Team), offered me one her mares (Cornish Gem) from her awesome line of eventers which I was delighted about. After some further discussions she has agreed to let me flush an embryo out of Cornish Gem's dam Cornish Faer. She is one of Britains best ever event mares - a multiple 4* mare and was shortlisted for Atlanta Olympics, and not only that she's by Ben Faerie out of a mare that jumped 7' in the Puissance at the Horse of the Year Show - wooo hooo!! Just sooooo excited about that one. Crossing everything that we get an embryo.
We've also got a couple of new mares coming on loan - one advanced mare and one mare who hasn't competed (through no fault of her own), but has awesome British eventing bloodlines. I'm also flushing one of my younger event mares for embryos to safeguard that bloodline (Primitive Rising x Ben Faerie). She's had 11 runs as a 5 year old at our PN level - 8 of which were double clears.
I've also got Winsome Adante's dam and 2 of his sisters who I want to flush embryos from.
It's a scary prospect to breed that many, but I keep going through the list of mares and can't find one that I'm prepared to 'cull' or not breed from for a year. That would be a waste, when I could be breeding a high quality foal from it.
Gail - How's Fred doing? Got any of that semen frozen for export to the UK yet?? ;)

Well, still debating. Have been kicking around different options for EM Cotton Eye Jane (Contendro x Escudo I) and Galaxi (Graf Grannus x TB).
However, just brought my new stallion home Contempo (Contender x Polydor), and am very fond of him already, so may be going that route. May try for an ET with his fresh on Jane and then go with Quidam and/or Air Jordan Z.

Not sure about my Claim to Fame full sister........can't go to any of my stallions (will go to my Voltaire black pinto colt when he's ready --but he's just being started under saddle this spring!) they're too closely related......
I love her Paparazzo filly from last year, but am also considering Ragtime........i LOVE the ridability of those Rubenstein lines.......and he seems to have a lovely jump too.........decisions, decisions!!

I finally decided just this weekend....
I am breeding my Oldenburg mare Whitney (Westcoast x Mighty Full (a TB mare that is a Round Table Granddaughter) to Mannhattan ( Finesse X Wellwisher (Wendepunkt). I will be mailing Kathy the contract tonight.
I think this has been one of my hardest decisions. My first breeding dabble with this mare and there were sooooo many awesome choices. But I am super excited as Mannhattan is just about 20 minutes down the road so that will make it extra easier for me as this is an older maiden mare and I am stressed enough as it is.

BF Moon Fyre (black Arabian) to Puerto d'Azur

...if all works out, I would like to breed my mare, Heidi (registered with the AQHA as "Hedis Destiny") to Steuart Pittman's stallion Salute the Truth (registered with the Jockey Club as "Boy Done Good").
My goal is to breed my own future event prospect. Heidi has an awesome jump and her own great eye for a distance, plus three solid gates.
I'd like an appendix and I think Willie is a great mover as well as quite tidy over fences from what I've seen/heard so it seems like a good choice.
However, it's my first breeding and probably my only for a long time so I need to do quite a bit of research before anything actually happens.

This coming Spring I will have my hanoverian mare (Lugano I X Donnerwetter) bred to a new stallion, Sir Wanabi ( http://www.laprisestable.com/stallion.html):). A horse with a super attitude that has done well in the hunter & jumper ring and who has completed the 100-day stallion test in Ohio in 2007, unfortunately unable to compete in the finals due to injury. I have seen this stallion up close and am really impressed by his demeanour and his first crop of foals (2007). He is a good WB stallion to cross with mares that are not refined enough or do not have enough movements for the current standards.

yikes, Julia, I'm impressed! That is quite a lineup!
No kidding...too bad it is too far to ship one of those babies over here! I may be shopping for a weaner this year and you have some great stock for both 2008 and 2009!

thanks equinelvr.
these will probably all go ahha. 2 of them are reinzucht holsteiner and the others are 'a' stam holsteiner.
we're tried hard to put a good herd of mares together. two other young ones that we selected, based upon their stam, among other things, are:
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/casiro+toronto
and
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/camalii
the former still lives with her breeder, uwe bahlman (stam 776) in holstein, and we hope to flush embryos next year. actually the latter also lives with her breeder too.... reece miller of bay hawk stables, va. both super breeders. we didn't see the need to reinvent the wheel!

I'm breeding my broodmare Jiffe, out of my TB mare Willow Bay and by Ideal, to A Fine Romance for a 3/4 TB x 1/4 Old. foal. I hope to bring in through the YEH series, though if it shows serious propensity, may send it to the hunter ring.

For sure is that I am breeding:
Suaheli (Han. Sandro Hit - Rouletto) to Farewell III (Fidermark - Rosenkavalier)
Than I will breed Flamminia (han. Florencio - Prince Thatch xx) and Caribic (han. Chromatic xx- Grundsee). But for both there is a huuuuge qustionmark as of to whom.
There is a lady who wants to lease the Florencio, but does not really get into gear. She plans on Blue Horse Leredo. Next week I want a decision on that.
Caribic is pregnant with a For compliment. We want to wait until that comes out and than maybe repeat that. Royal Blend is also on the list for her.

Ginger Cookie (Grand Cru/Dinara) to Escudo I
I am so excited about this-
Ginger Cookie is a maiden. She is a horse we imported and sold, and I recently aquired her back! I showed her under the name Sweetness, she won the Overall trophy for the Young Hunter U/S at Devon a month after being imported. She was also 1st in the country and 1st is zone 2 in the Green Conf. when we sold her 3 years ago.

Mine has changed as well. lol
VDL Atlantic (Accord II/Lord/Calando) to Nordic Image (Riverman/Raswan/Raswan's Valentine) for a 3/4th sibling to a daughter. I'm breeding this foal for someone in particular who's expressed interest in the 3/4th sibling of this future foal. We shall see how this pans out.

My possible line up for 2008:
Barina (Graditz/Peron) to Titulus or Ironman (Jumpers)
Tai Chi (Tycoon (Donaumonarch/Sir Shostakovich)) to Titulus or Ironman
I say possible because we are already (excitedly!!) expecting a Titulus foal out of our mare Barina so we haven't decided if we will just skip a year.
Tai Chi is only 3 this year, so we may wait until she's 4 to foal at 5!
But the thing we are SURE about is it will be to either jumper stallion!

Only finally decided this past weekend.
Heartbreaking TB mare (Broken Hearted - Declan's Castle by Carlingford Castle) will go to Sir Oldenburg. While he is a dressage horse, I love his jumper lines. An interesting mix and will really look forward to this foal.
Heartbreak Ridge TB mare (Humble - Heartbreaking by Broken Hearted) will go to Milky Way for a Palomino warmblood. I'm sorry I love the palominos!
I have 3 TB racemares I'm breeding too, but won't bore you all with the details - I bored the racing section already!

I am looking to breed my Irish Draught X Arab mare this year. I am looking for that ultimate Sport Horse result! I want to breed her to a Tb or corss to lengthen and refine her. I don't want bone loss but hmmmmm. I particularly am interested in Gem Twist lines and as such have found only a couple of stallions.
Knock Wood - Sell Francais By Olisco out of a full sister to Gem Twist
Triple Twist - who I noticed someone else posted about I see that he was sold to EMC International and is supposed to be standing in Maryland (where I am) this year but cannot get a response to them. If the person who posted that her mare(s) were bred to him can help I would be grateful.
Silver Twist - and Abdullah stallion who stnads in KY. I wasn;t thrilled with his conformation but great lines eh?
V'Tropez - Who is out of a mare by Good Twist - Gem Twist's sire. I am so ignorant of warmblood lines I cannot tell his top sire but his sire is Galoubet A. Also from their website I cannot tell where they are OSJS Inc. or something.
The I researched TB's on the leading sires list for hunters, dressage, eventing etc. As you can imagine there were precious few if any under Dressage, mostly under eventing and a few in hunters and a spattering in Jumpers. The sticky part was tracking any of them down. 90% are dead! the other 10% I could only find information on the web for 3 they are:
Castle Cove - who is in VA - again I have emailed them but no response.
Bold Nominee - he stands in Florida (I am in Maryland) and only does Love Cover - worth the trip? I don;t know.
Nob Hill - Gorgeous chestnut who stands in VA - anyone bred to him ever?
At any rate - any insights you readers may have would be most welcome. My mare is my baby and I want the best "date" for her!
Cheers,
Robin C.

I am breeding my good hunter mare, Emma who is by Viscount and throws very typy foals to IRONRULE. Very excited as she has had 2 foals in the top 6 in the country, Rule was 2nd this year, so theoretically this should be a a truelly gorgeous foal.
I am going to breed IRONMAN back to Luna, who is a TB and a former Gran Prix horse for another jumper foal. Last years filly from that combination is outstanding, so hopefully I will get another one like her.

Indeed he is, right in Langley BC, close to me. He may throw something a little bit hot though.
