Prior to that I suppose I could claim honorary starving student status with Mr. Haight's Litchfield County Hounds and the old Woodside Hounds in Aiken as roommate's Dad was MFH/huntsman.

Warwickshire is in the heart of England. Our claim to fame is Shakespeares birthplace, a large tourist trap called Stratford-upon-Avon. Take up the invitation for Cornwall, you'l have a blast!!

Hunted my first year with James River Hunt (about 1998 or 1999, I think), then joined with Colonial Foxhounds out of New Kent County, Quinton, Virginia. I was a whip for Colonial up until I had to curtail my hunting due to having a child and an unsupportive SO. I have capped a few times with Reedy Creek Hounds over the past few years. Due to other commitments during the last five years, my hunting was very limited. I also went with Colonial on a joint meet with Oak Ridge (MFH Brown) and another hunt from her area, but I don't remember who they were since it's been so long.
BTW, I FINALLY GOT OUT AND HUNTED THIS PAST WEEKEND!!! Yeah, I know, I missed the entire cubbing season but.....I'M BAAAACCCKK! :D:D Not only did I get to hunt but was asked very early on in the hunt to assist at whipping in again! Man, I'm so glad to be back! I didn't realize just how much I had missed it!

Have my colors with Bull Run Hunt and Loudoun Hunt and with the Ashland Bassetts. Am landowner with Warrenton Hunt and try to get out with them every chance I can. Great hunt! Avid car follower with a couple of local hunts (my favorite is Old Dominion Hounds! woooo hoooo!) but not a currently paid member of anyone....I am an admitted Professional Guest! It's absolute hunting heaven around here! Why not!! Oh, I'll break down and join, maybe next year!! I prefer American hounds.........
Hows this....in 1 week recently I went out with Warrenton & fox ran thru my farm with hounds in tow! I viewed & tally hoed a coyote later! Then the next day I went out with Ashland Bassets and viewed of course with an "accounting". And then a few days later I went out with a beagle pack near me called the Orlean Foot Beagles and wowee-zoweee we was rockin'!!! :D Super pack! Super week!!
Am currently icing my knee when I'm not online or planning my next hunting experience! Anybody wanna join me?! Beagles? Bassetts? Foxhounds!?? Life is good! And don't ask me which I liked better! I always like the ones in front of me the best!! Foot hunting really has an appeal; it's so simple, basic and you can get up front and see everything in a take your own line kinda way. Around here; some of the hunts are really single file long lines where all you get to see are the butts of the riders in front of you!!;) I'm very much a viewing, watching, listening kinda hunter. Love old fashioned hilltopping! Just love it......

Chula Houma Hunt, Pickens MS (Volunteer hunt)
25th anniversary hunt is scheduled for Nov 10, 2007
It will be my 3-4th year hunting. I grew up hacking and my son(16) dragged me into foxhunting. I echo "how did I ever survive without hunting?" He is apprentice staff this year and thrilled.
He now tells me he wants to make his profession kennelman or huntsman............ Being the good mother that I am, I will be seeking internships for him this summer.
He interned with Midland this past summer for a month and learned a lot. If he is never a kennelman/huntsman he will still be a great asset to our hunt with the skills he learns. He says "Can you imagine being PAID to hunt?" I'll just leave it at that and hope that our huntsman can help us to find a great internship this year.
And, BTW have you priced whips????????? They're whips, for goodness sake!

Well, if we're adding in not only the hunts of which we're members, but the hunts with which we've hunted, add in a few more for me:
LouDon Hunt; Galesburg, MI (a drag farmer pack) - have colors, whipped in there a thousand years ago; they started my hunting career

Red Rock Hounds; Reno, NV - hunt w/ them at an annual Joint Meet
Kingsbury Harriers; Inyokern, CA - hunt w/ them at an annual Joint Meet + other times like the Western Hunt Challenge
High Country Hounds; Flagstaff, AZ - hunt w/ them during the Western Hunt Challenge
Tryon Hounds - hunted w/ them during their visit to AZ for the Great Southwest Foxhunt Fandango a few years ago
Waldingfield Beagles; VA - both mounted and on foot while they were here in AZ for the WHC

I have colours with the Essex Fox Hounds (NJ) (so did my mother and my grandparents! We go back to the turn of the last century!) But, of course, I haven't hunted with them since college which was a long time ago.
Was a whip for the Tewksbury Foot Bassetts (OK, a SLOW whip, but had fun nonetheless) and briefly for the Octorara Beagles (my ex's pack). Love the foot hounds - you can really see them work!
Have hunted with numerous packs both on foot and horseback. The Galway Blazers came through here today... ;)

I agree!! Although not hunting right now I do have a retired PMD. He will occassionally get on a line and that sound at 6:30am is just wonderful . I'm not sure my neighbors agree but fortunately none of them appear to have guns :)
I won't go as far to say I'm hunting on foot but I'm usually walking him when this happens . We live along a large wetland and conservation area in the middle of suburbia so I can find a position and enjoy the show.

I hunt with Live Oak Hounds out of Monticello, Florida.
Started huntiing about 3 years ago. Learned to ride English just so I could hunt! Before that all I rode was TWH on trail rides. Now I hunt as much as possible! LOVE IT!

Worked on property that was part of Cheshire Hunt in Unionville, Pa.(always loved to see them come thru, although the racehorses weren't) and sometimes car followed them. I also used to work for Russell Jones.

I usually don't post on this forum, just visiting from the Eventing forum, but I thought I would chime in if you don't mind. :)
I am not an "avid" foxhunter (mostly due to NEVER having the appropriate horse and then finally giving up), but I do enjoy it when I do go out. I do however have a long time boyfriend who is an Obcessive foxhunter! He is a Master and First Whip (and I am a member) of the Edisto River Hounds in Aiken, SC. He was told at the annual meeting in NY this year that he is supposedly the youngest Master in the MFHA at the moment (not verified, so don't get mad at me if your son is a young master :) ). His mother is also a Founding Master of the Edisto Hunt.
His father is (or was...I can't keep up) on the hunt committee at the Shakerag Hunt in GA. I have had a great time hunting with them on several occasions, all VERY inviting people!
And my first hunt was with the Midland Foxhounds. It was probably 6 yrs ago that I went out with them some, but it was my first experience with foxhunting and I enjoyed it very much.
*I will say that even though I generall miss out on hunting because of weekly horse trials, I THOROUGHLY enjoy the social life that comes with hunting! Hunt balls and yearly trips to NYC are so much fun, and hunt parties are always a blast no matter what hunt you are enjoying the company of. :)

I have been out of showing (H/J) for about 10 years. I recently got the "itch" back but was not interested in showing. Figured foxhunting would be new challenge. Soon I hope to join Midland (Georgia). Went on hunt several weeks ago (followed in car) but had a blast just the same. Now if I can just get my TB to actually willingly go in the trailer, I may just actually get over there and experience it on the back of a horse!
Not that I did not have a blast riding in the truck with you, Earl!:D

For many years before we moved to Kansas I was the photographer & video guy for LTMH (or Lake of Two as it's known) http://www.forevergreenstables.com/LTMH.htm and Mrs. KS got her colours with them. Still keep in touch with their now retired huntsman, Alfie Smith & his wife, Margaret (who's probably forgotten more about keeping & training hounds than most men know).

I'm not a member but have hunted a few times this season and walked hounds with the Caroline Hunt. What a blast! So much for my desire to horse show ... I've had more fun hunting 3 times this season than 3 years of circling the show ring!

I have hunted withthe Hamilton Hunt, Ontario Canada since 1984 and my hubby and I do hang out with the Tintern Hare Hounds (basset pack). Unfortunately the Weather Gods ended our season here Saturday night. A bunch of us are heading to Tennessee to hunt with the Cumberland Mountain Hounds in late January. www.hamiltonhunt.ca is our website- that's me on the ClydeX in the top right pic at the start of our photo page from the meet at our farm, and me on the Paint in the other pics....

A bit late but here's a couple of new hunts:
Now that we've finally found proper mounts, my wife and I are members of Tryon Hounds and also hunt with Green Creek Hounds (both in Polk County NC) and Palm Beach Hounds, when we're in S FL.

I have had the pleasure of capping w/ the Green Creek/Green County Hounds in Farmville, NC. A small but enthusiastic group. They are actually some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to meet.
I too, thought I wanted to "horse show" but after hunting again......not so much.
