wee to you. She looks bigger than my adult mini donkeys.
Very, very cute. Neat how much she looks like mom.

Beautiful! I've hardly ever seen a black draft horse before. What breed are they? They look like medieval horses!

These look like Shires who are black or bay in general (the OP will correct me if I am wrong). Other draft breeds that come in this color: Percherons are often black and Friesians are required to be.
All breeds that are popular with the war games set for exactly the reason you mentioned.

Thanks guys :)
Guin, they are Clydesdale horses, from Scotland. Black is quite an uncommon colour in Clydesdales and we are incredibly fortunate to have a beautiful black mare and black/roan stallion whom we adore. They have now produced two beautiful purebred fillies for us.
This is dad, for anyone interested :)

And this is Kenzie's full sister, Meg (last summer, aged about 4 months).

I went to the hitch shows here (well in MN in the 80's) with my Great-Grandpa when I was a kid and do remember a hitch that used black Clydes. Cute baby pics!

That's a cute chunky lump! Congratulations ;)
They're pretty common round here and have been used extensively in the past as part of an improvement breeding programme for the English Hunter
My father farmed with them:

Our breed standard states: The colours most common are bay with white markings, but blacks, greys , roans and chestnuts are occasionally seen. The white markings are characteristic and it is the exception to see a bay or brown Clydesdale without a white face and considerable white on the feet and legs.
