They don't, or at least haven't in the past, have a website. I've been every year so I can tell you what I know.
Dressage starts Sat morning, cones follows. Sunday is the Marathon. Everything usually starts around 9, there is usually a lunch break. The competitors party is Sat night. There is a breifing Fri afternoon and maybe a course walk. They usually have a pizza party while waiting for scores and awards on Sunday. Seems like they run Training, then Prelim, the Intermed.
Hope that all helps. We never have gotten times until we get there and the office opens.

So the trailer is packed and Poppy and I are off tomorrow for Pine Tree CDE. Looking forward to a fun event and it will be great to see everyone again. Pat, this time, maybe we can at least see each other long enough to say hi.

Price, you and Pat (and anyone else going) have a safe and wonderful time. I hope you both do well, take lots of pictures, and give us a great report when y'all get back....

Well Maggie and I have our final lesson with Bill tomorrow morning. I didn't drive her today as she has seemed a bit tired so I thought I'd give her a day off. Just got a cosmetic trim from the farrier and some cookies :)
So what do most of you do prior to an event? We'll be trailering in on Saturday and Sunday. What should I do Thursday and Friday? Mileage? Dressage?
We've got all of our watches and stopwatches; have confirmed Manuel knows about the chart and timing; have my turnout ready and some Halloween stuff for the marathon. Anything else?
Hope we get a chance to visit Price. What level are you doing?

I'm in Prelim single pony, which by looking at the list the emails were sent to, should be quite a class. Muffy has been pretty impossible to beat with her new pony and Suzi Salstrumm is a lightning bolt on the marathon.
It has been raining here for 2 days so Poppy has had the time off. There is no question about her fitness and this year, with the allergy shots, she has had no problems breathing. We did a longish but not particularly stressful drive at Biltmore on Sat, lesson on Sun, I won't drive today. I will probably drive some Thurs, maybe not Fri. Depending on my dressage time, may do a quicky drive early Sat morning before getting the final clean up for Presentation.
I've been working on a schedule to get her listening but still very fresh for Dressage. She tends to be lazy and a little ho, hum about dressage and needs to be more up. I need to move the 6's and 7's to 7's and 8's. We'll see.

I talked to the CDE Gods and asked for 8s and 9s on Price and Poppin's dressage test.... I guess we'll see just how much pull I have with the CDE Gods won't we? :D:lol:!
Muffy is top of the rock, no doubt, but you know as well as I do Price that doo doo happens and it ain't over 'til its over.
Try to get some pics to share with us if y'all can......

Well we just had our last lesson prior to our first CDE. My wonderful trainer not only fixed my twisted shaft and checked everything out, but he had set a cones course for me and for the first time I ran one at the correct width :) We decided that with Maggie's big trot there was no reason to canter since I don't want her to get the idea that she can canter elsewhere, too.
Bill also checked with Manuel, my navigator, on timing and watches and stuff. He said Linda would help me with my chart, if need be, and answered my several other last minute questions. He also offered to send Manuel over with me on Friday to walk the course.
We did our dressage test a few times and got some last minute tweaks and tips. And best of all everyone at the barn agreed that Maggie is very fit and ready, and looks great! :D All of those miles have paid off!
So we're awaiting the arrival of Laurel (she should be about done settling Jack in) and I'm on my way out to clean out and repack the trailer. Then all that's left is the final cleaning up of pony, tack and harness. Excitement is building!!!
And Don, Laurel and I would be happy to have a few of those 8's and 9's from the CDE Gods, too

Well, I just heard that Muffy's pony had colic surgery today, so you all slug it out to the top!
Good luck to you all.
Some of our Team Oregon members will be there to watch, I'll try to have them look you up!

What a soggy day a Pine Tree! But we really, really need the rain so no one was complaining. I used it as an excuse to buy some new rain gear from Harvey ;)
Driving people are absolutely the greatest! Everyone is so helpful and kind. I walked cones and hazards with Laurel, Price and Abby. Price and Abby, the experienced two, were very generous with tips and strategies. And even though Laurel and I are in the same class she could not have been more encouraging - even lending me her 4-wheeler to visit the hazards a second time with my navigator, and then coming back to the farm to help me power wash my carriage and harness :)
The cones course is very friendly and inviting. Most of the hazards have easy paths for our small ponies. The rain is supposed to stop with sun and nice temperatures predicted for the whole weekend. Doesn't get any better
I'm very glad that I'm doing Training Level although after checking with the TD I discovered that doing two events at Training is not REQUIRED - it's just RECOMMENDED. If all goes well this weekend that means I can stay local for awhile, even though some of the events do not offer Training Level.
I also want to give a big Thank You to horseyfolks for sending me the chart for figuring marathon times... and then calling me to walk me through the process. I've got my numbers figured out and just need to make the chart to go on my carriage for Sunday's marathon. I also had a good suggestion from Tommy Noonan to make notes to myself for each hazard and then tape them in front of me. Never would've thought of that but it sure will help me stay on track. I can't wait to get started!!! :D

Pat, I can't figure out why your TD would tell you that it is not required but is recommended. You have a rule book.... read it. Article 918, paragraph 5, article 5.2, page 102, states .. "Preliminary division - the driver has completed at least two sanctioned CDE or two DT's or had other equivalent driving experience." It says nothing about recommended. There is a space on the registration form where you put down what experience you have to qualify you for the level you wish to compete at. Most show organizers take this seriously. From what I have seen in the past this needs to be experience that can be proven if asked to and pleasure shows are not usually accepted as marathon/hazards experience.

I know we had one in PSP who had done a DT at training, but that was it. And it showed. It is worth doing training until you have a clue what you are doing. It is only fair to your animal to let them learn the game slowly and continue having fun at it. But dear Pat was more than nice as I reiterated that point over the weekend. You can't get into much trouble in Dressage and cones but hazards are immobile.
I do think they organizers are much more careful about quaifications after you move past Prelim.
