DEHNER BOOTS--$650
I have a pair of black calf Dehner dress boots for sale. They
were made in 2000 to fit a men's 8 / women's 9.5 or
10 wider foot--or room for fleecey insoles and extra
socks for you intrepid all weather riders-- and *leg* measurements of 15 3/8" top, 15
5/8" calf. External measurements are: 16 1/8" around the top,
16 1/4" at the widest point of the calf, 19 1/4" from the top of
the heel up the back seam, 18 3/4" from top of the heel to top
of the inside, and 20" top of the heel up the outside.
Sole measures about 4" at the widest point, and 11 3/8" heel-to-toe.
They show a wee bit of wear on the inside calf, a few
(only noticeable up very close) scratches from briars, but
are in overall excellent, not-too-far-from-new
condition (don't drop when you take the trees out).
They have a stitched, rippled sole, spur rests and a
full lining.
They originally came with the detachable cuffs, but I
don't have those (Dehner could easily make you tan or
patent ones as needed for foxhunting).
And they come with the original, custom, freakishly
gorgeous and expensive wooden Donovan boot trees.
Yours for $650. New, the boots are $915, and the
trees are $560 (total $1475 new. If these are your size or
close to your size, you'll get a phenomenal deal.) Please PM
or email rooanddogs AT yahoo DOT com for pics and serial #.
I'll try to post pics tonight.
THEO SOMMER VSS SADDLE--$350
Also for sale, a Theo Sommer (http://www.sattelmacher.com/) saddle, narrow tree, 16.25+" seat (measured from button on pommel to center of cantle, originally sold as 16.5", but I'm not quite sure how they figured the measurement). Made in Germany. Model is Somero, which is a VSS cut. Wool-flocked. Brown, doeskin knee rolls, short billets, excellent condition, great, well-balanced saddle, in excellent, lightly used condition. Perfect saddle for smaller rider on high withered TB type. Super eventing saddle.
Hard to find the Sommer saddles here in the US, but they are comparable to Stübben in price and quality. In my experience, the Sommer saddles tend to fit women's pelvises rather nicely--narrow through the twist to accommodate rounder thighs, but wider in the seat to work with our seatbones. I just want this sold, so am pricing at $350 + shipping to avoid having to send it out on trial. Trumbull said they'd price it at $650, but that would mean driving there and back (or to UPS which is almost as bad) and then *waiting*, and like I said, I want it sold ASAP. I'll post pictures shortly, but PM or email rooanddogs AT yahoo DOT com if you'd like me to send them directly to you.
